Although I agree with you in theory, the reality is that Osby was quick enough to at least foul his guy last night as he broke to the basket, Augustus' guy just blew smooth past him. Imagine an SEC caliber 3 for them to guard and a shooting guard for Ravern to guard? Ouch. Maybe we sink into a zone for this "tall/shooting/scoring" package? We played pretty intense zone last year? Ravern is quite long and may defend the 3 pretty well if he is quick enough to slide back and forth at the top with Bost? Keep in mind that this group of guys can shoot fairly well, but factor in our "offensive sets" or lack thereof. Imagine three big guys gumming up the lane and teams collapsing in on Jarvis or whomever. No movement equals lots of defenders under the basket = bad for us.
Barry has lost his giddy up. He stares blankly at the floor throughout the entire game. I don't know if you need to do something like hire him a prostitute who is a loud screamer (you da man!) or go to the pound and get a dog so he could kick it to death (develop his killer instinct?) I am at a loss.....so is Randy. I know a coach may inflict the kiss of death on a kid who is a shooter by telling him not to shoot. But maybe he could just sit him for a while? Damn.
Hans could have been the answer. I hope he is enjoying sitting on his @ss this season.
My prediction, if the wheels continue to come off, look for Holcombe at the 4 and for us to take turns "feeding" that one guy (Bailey/Varnado) with 4 little fellers running around the perimeter. If this happens I will be crying...so will Kodi and Osby.
