only because statistically, odds are that we will be better. At the same time, it's going to be our Achille's heel. Bowen is going to carry the staff. I think Crosswhite and Forrest Moore are going to be the other two starters on the weekend. Devin Jones is a guy to look out for next year as a Fr. I expect Micheal Busby to pitch a lot next year as well. But when you get down to it, we're going to struggle at times. Justin Bussey will either be our closer or start on the weekend, but he's a potential dual position guy.
I've heard that Cohen is worried about the catcher postion as well. Cody Freeman has trouble throwing and Ryan Duffy looks like he's playing on roller skates back there. I've heard that Scott DeLoach is our best defensive catcher, but he has almost zero experience.
I expect Conner Powers to start at first base, and I think he's our best player. He's a guy that can hit for power and average, and I think that defensively he's better suited for first base. The rest of the infield is probably going to change day by day. It looks like Jet Butler will start at second, Russ Sneed at third, and Bussey at SS. Also look for Frankie Rawdow to play some middle infield, Jarrod Parks to occasionally play at first and third and Ryan Powers to come in as a defensive replacement in the middle infield- especially for Jet Butler.
The outfield will likely be Ryan Collins, Grant Hogue, and Luke Adkins from RF to LF. I think Jason Nappi and Mark Goforth are going to get some playing time out there as well. Nick Hardy may get some innings as well as pinch hit some.
DH is going to go to whoever is hot at the time between Duffy, Freeman, Nappi, Goforth and whoever else is sitting out on the bench.
In short, from what I have been hearing, we're going to have a lot of lineups, and I think Cohen is just going to base it on who's hot at the time.
I still stand on my 30 win prediction with a regional appearance.
