Brownlee, Collins, Sheperd, Frost and Thigpen should never, ever start at the same time. We are asking to get no hit with the line up we trotted out there tonight. I can't stand Frost playing. He wouldn't start at Delta St. The same goes for Collins.
Brownlee is hitting .341. I agree with you about Thigpen and Frost, even though Thigpen does play good defense. Collins should only play if Norris or Bradford are pitching, or if he is pinch hitting for a defensive player at the end of the game. Even then, there are other guys I would probably pick over him in those situations.
I have no problem with playing a catcher who is good defensively but struggles to hit, and I think Shepherd's hitting will get better as the season progresses. It did last year.
However, Collins and Frost should never be in the starting line up, especially Frost. He simply can't hit, and he isn't that damn good defensively. I wish we would give Frazier, Stark or Henderson a serious look at second.

I've kept up with the live stats for almost every game, and it seems like once or twice a game we will steal a base or advance on a wild pitch, and the guy at the plate ends up getting walked or hit by a pitch.
Norris and Vickerson are struggling at the plate the past couple of games. I think this is just a chance to get them a rest break. I'm not saying that at least one of them shouldn't be in the lineup, but just what might be going through Cohen's mind.

Yeah but Norris isnt really striking out, he has been hitting the ball hard but just right at people - i say leave him in. Vickerson could use a break, he seemed frustrated this weekend when he went into a little mini-slump.
Guess we could still have it at a later date though. I can't believe this game got rained out. I didn't think there would beenough instability left in the atmosphere for storms to fire behind what went through earlier today and be significant enough to rain out the game.
for the first round of storms that actually suspended play. Then they screwed up thinking the rain was gone and it started pouring, they had already pulled the tarp and could not get it back on. Cohen's and UAB's staff met and discussed it and agreed to continue the game at a date to be determined in the future.
Even so, it would have been tough to get. The line went through, then a piece broke off from the back side after the line had passedand instead of staying with the line of storms moving east, it shot off to the NE. That's why it rained, stopped, then started again. Very weird thing to happen, and if they didn't have a trained meteorologist advising them they wouldn't havebeen able to identify that.
