Cupp has a MLB “arm” for a SS.
He has a freaking rocket. I enjoyed watching him turn one loose. Obviously there is more to it than he just lost his job. I guess with the no-show after the injury this weekend, he must have not even traveled with the team.

4 losses so far. None significant. Looks like as players meet with O'Connor the ones who aren't in the future are moving out to make room for other players.
Gavin Black - P
Dylan Cupp - SS
Landis Davila - OF
Wes Pritchard - P
Cupp was talented but never lived up to the billing. Was hoping BOC could get him straightened out, oh well.

The bigger question for me is Gavin Black. He pitched one time this season (very early in the year) and we never saw him again. Was he injured or was he just not good enough? Late in the 2024 season he had the look of a closer and thought he might make a jump this year.

Stevens, Cupp and Grant. The Crown Jewels of the 23 class. All done.

I was hoping Stevens might stick around with BOC coming in. I'm sure he's got a terrible taste in his mouth (Stallman too) at our insistence at using a damn backup catcher in RF over him, but with the new staff coming in I was hopeful he could stay, and like it was said above maybe he could shift to 1B. Maybe this is a bit of a sign that BOC is bringing Ford with him?

So far, either good attrition or players with potential who really didn't live up to it at MSU. One very big name not on that list. I'm hoping that's a good sign. At the very least, reports a few weeks ago that LSU was a "done deal" were at best premature, and hopefully just wrong.
the reports of LSU being a "done deal" was the other board's negative spewing of misinformation. He may very well end up there or elsewhere, but his camp was always very clear that he liked it here and was going to see who we hired. Obviously we still have to get the terms right, but we got the hire right. And if he doesn't like the hire, well then thank you for this year and we wish you well.
