With all the talk during the CWS about the power numbers being down. Are there any changes coming to the baseballs or bats for this season?

We changed to Adidas bats this year. They were formerly Reebok bats that Adidas purchased and redid. Allegedly, we hit with everything -- and these are the ones we liked best. That said, they still meet BBCOR standards -- so they can't be that great.

No changes to the ball for this season -- primarily because of strain of double purchasing baseballs for smaller programs. They are going to change them prior to next season most likely. Cohen is the only opponent to this in the SEC because of how our team has been built in the past -- but it's coming.

We used Easton bats this past year and I think we've used them for quite some time.

Cohen isn't opposed.... He's just opposed to it happening so soon. Needs time to revamp the roster for the new style of play it would cause.

Correct. His exact statement is "I wish they would wait 4 years". He voted against it in the immediate sense -- the only SEC coach to do so.

Cohen has more potential power hitters than he's had since he's been here. Rea, Swanarski, Ingram, Humphries, Garner. So I guess when they change the ball Cohen will remove that fake grass.
