Baseball Recruit Corey Dickerson

I came across this article on Mississippi State baseball commit Corey Dickerson from Brookhaven, MS who played at Meridian Community college this past spring. Corey was drafted in the 29th round of this years Major League Baseball draft.by the Colorado Rockies. The article says that if the Rockies dont sign Dickerson by August 17 then ihe can enroll at Mississippi State in January 2010 and play for the bulldogs this spring or go back to Meridian. Dickerson hit 18 homeruns in the leadoff spot for Meridian and played center field.

I doubt he does it for one reason- if he goes back to Meridian, he can get drafted again after his So. year. If he comes to MSU, he has to wait until he's a junior.

But you never know.

The upside is if he goes to MSU, and does well against better competition, he can increase his draft stock as well. He just has to wait two years.

It would be nice if he did come on board, though.
