I'm calling it now. Write down. .500 in sec. On the road for a regional. Book it
at least we'll be well coached in one sport
Starting tonight we should be more like LSU fans who are already claiming the 2026 National Title in Baseball. We will be very talented, very well-coached, and very good at home. And they come to our place. We must beat that tiger ***. And the hogs. I'm looking forward to winning the Ark series again, like we used to always do.
I don’t want it to happen but yall gotta admit it would be really funny in a masochistic kind of way if we dropped a game to Hofstra on opening weekend or something like that.
This place will be unreadable if that happens.
I worry about the big expectations right outta the gate for Oak and team. We will be most dangerous post season.
I just hope it doesn't take half the season to gel. With this talent though, anything can happen.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes at least that long. Just so many new players & coaches to integrate into a team. It’s not as easy as a lot of people think it is.
Really shouldn't. Baseball is the most individualized team game there is. Not saying there won't be some time needed for the team to get up and rolling but if we have the talent we think we do then we should be pretty dang good from the get go.
It is. But it does take time to figure out what you best batting order is, best way to line up your defense, pitching roles, etc. I expect a slow start & then figure things out by mid season. I think by postseason this team could be smoking.
By slow start I’m assuming you mean in SEC play because our nonconference schedule is super easy save for the Arlington tourney and a small handful of midweek games.
The SEC schedule as a whole is our biggest hurdle to overcome in the regular season at least. When your easiest weekend series are South Carolina on the road, A&M on the road, Ole Miss on the road…. That’s pretty rough. All five of our home SEC series are against preseason ranked teams. We don’t get a Mizzou or home series against Kentucky on the schedule like we had last year
Look here, Dawg fans, we will lose a few, but good pitching and sound defense will work wonders for our chances to Host and win our regional, host a Super, and progress our aszes the banks of the great Missouri River on the Nebraska side. Book that!! High on Oak and the guys.

I think we'll lose 2-3 OOC games we probably shouldn't have. But everybody else does too. Likely would be midweek OOC games. I'd keep an eye on Troy, Austin Peay, Tulane, USM, Nicholls, UAB, etc. There's enough talent on any of those teams that can upset us if our midweek mound guy doesn't produce. And not sure about Lipscomb....they have had some decent years and usually play a pretty good brand of ball, albeit a lower level league. Yeah, if we only lose 2-3 OOC games total all year, that would actually be pretty stout. (and I'm not including the Arlington Tourney).
Thats the only thing I keep thinking about. We could see some stumbling early as we just have SO MANY pieces to work in and out of the lineup. I dont think its a bad thing as it will be beneficial toward the end of the season.
