Any of you Starkville locals heard anything about baseball scheduling for the weekend? Is today still looking like a washout?

there is no way baseball is being played today. The roads are pretty much flooded and has been raining consistantly since about 8 in the morning. There is no telling how bad the outfield is at Dudy Noble.

But Starkville is nearing 3 inches of rain since 8 am. It's supposed to continue through the night. It's pretty unlikely for a game today. KV speculated that there would be a possible double header tomorrow with the first game starting at 10 or 11

That's what I'm hoping they do. The only down part about that is it being so cold, but the DH would be worth it.

then I'm not going. If it snows I will go. Watching baseball in the snow at DNF would be something I will never forget.

Looks like the second game will just overlap with the basketball game. Which is good, not that it will overlap with the basketball game, but that 7-inning games are for softball not baseball.

I remember when we played at Tennessee, and they hadn't been able to get a game in during the weekend so they let them play two seven inning games, which I believe we lost both by one inning.

SEC rule is that Saturday DH's are 2 9-inning games and Sunday DH's are 2 7-inning games for travel reasons. Of course, this isn't an SEC series so we could do what we want to, but the general rule is that all games are 9 innings.
