Looked to me like he was out by a mile. What's the rule, less than 2 outs hold the runner at third. That was dumb on our 3rd base coach and his fault. That's the third runner I think he has gotten thrown out. I understand you want to be agressive but the way we have hit I say look for the sac fly.
We got 3 hits 1 hbp and a walk and could only manage 1 run. If we held the runner it would be 2-1 maybe with bases loaded and 2 outs (if the double play couldn't have been turned).
...wet weather definitely slows the track a bit, but if you're "small ball" in that you bunt a lot and have a lot of slap hitters who can leg out infield hits, the wet field can actually be an advantage.
If they could somehow keep the dirt dry and the grass wet, I would agree with you. Plus, running on wet grass can be pretty slick when you're trying to go full speed and you're having to try to start and stop.
