1-3 were never going to happen with Bo. We will find out soon enouGh with Riley. If he doesn't make it happen he will be gone as well. I think he is actually bringing in a real QB which is a start.

I sure hope O'Brien is the real deal. I didn't think we could do much worse than Bo, but this staff has me real worried.

As I have said, who knows yet on MR. Bo needed to be gone, nobody should question that, he was a dick. TA f'd up yesterday, certainly not a pretty game but he messed up.

Its to early to tell on 2 and 3. 1 I would like to think yes but were 5 games in and the players are still struggling with fundamentals and having mental breakdowns way to much. I expected to see play calling that makes sense and a better feel for the games but its been the opposite. Can they stop overthinking so much? I don't know but its looking bad right now.

This season we probably wont dramatically improve and I don't expect a highly rated class. As for the third none of can say for certain what the future holds for this staff. So far I haven't been impressed with much of what they've shown but I'm hoping it's just been a transitional mess and that we'll be much better next season with some time under their belts.

The past predicts the future. Riley will always be an also ran. Nice guy, so-so coach. Not nearly enough fire in the belly to be elite. Name an elite coach that isn't intense.

Better yet Gerry loss the game .
he is the one that allowed a 75 yard bomb....TA covered the defenses *** against So Miss when they let a junior high Qb throw all over the place. TA made the play to seal the game so our horrible defense didn't have to get back out there.

I guess TA gave up the pass play as well.

Never should have been this close against IL. Should have won this thing going away. Spread the blame everywhere.

TA has kept us in most games. Without him, we'd have been blown out.

TA may have goofed, but he has been one of the few bright spots and has actually played OK given a new system. Without him at the helm, these close games would be blowouts.

You know that MR success here (or lack of as it appears now) has nothing to do with Bo. Seems that every time someone brings up the fact that MR isn't a good enough coach, to coach at NU, an MR fan comes up and says "Well it was never going to happen under Bo". No crap. That's why he was fired. What Bo did here and what Riley is doing here are mutually exclusive. Bo is gone. Stop bringing his name up when we talk about MR's woes people.

But we keep being told on this board by "know it all insiders" that we are going to land a bunch of high profiled recruits in January and February. I mean MR cant pull out close games, how the hell is he going to close on some young kids in the eleventh hour.

The game was lost when we had awesome field position numerous times in the 2nd half and did nothing which comes back to the OC. If we play Illinois 10 times we win 9 with this being our loss. They suck bad, and we gave it to them.
