Well I guess since one game defines your season we are now number 18 in the nation.

the other way. These are the kind of wins that bump up your At-Large stock. In years past, we would not have touched a win vs. a ranked team and had 2 or 3 losses that would have bumped us off the bubble. If we win this tournament and we go into conference play where our only "bad" loss is Akron, I'll be perfectly fine with that. But unless you just started watching MSU basketball, any other year, we would have gone 2 and out without a win. <div>
</div><div>We are still Jeckyll and Hyde on offense and that worries me. We pulled away because we got hot from 3 early and made just enough baskets later on (coupled with their inability to make baskets) to win this thing. Bost sealed the deal for us, but we didn't play like a ranked team and they didn't either. Defensively, we are starting to click, and that's good. Still struggle at times stopping the dribble, but we are playing much better than even last week. We are also rebounding much better with Moultrie in the paint. All that to say this... I'll take the win. </div>

I will agree that in years past we have struggled in games like this but one thing that frustrates me more than anything is how alot of MSU fans harp on losses its one game move on and lets let the season play out before we write the season off after one loss to a decent team.

Not fabulous, but somewhat respectable. It's frustrating to most fans, though, because year after year, we have those type losses to teams we should beat, then come March (when we are on the Bubble), we have one or two wins against Top 50 RPI teams, but we also have 2 or 3 bad losses (sub 150 RPI). I never wrote off the season, but year after year, those losses come back to bite us in the ***. Glad to get the win tonight, though. We need a few of these and that Akron loss won't look so bad.

but that is still a loss we cant have with the type talent we have<div>
</div><div>However, a 2-0 NYC trip would cancel out that loss- makes tomorrow huge for us</div>

The problem with Akron is the schedule is very weak and their RPI will only go down but I see them making the tournament and upsetting who ever they play but just my opinion.

We are gonna have our work cut out for us tomorrow night, but if we can beat either one of these teams, that will be a HUGE exclamation point, even with the Akron loss. These are the kind of difference-making wins that matter come March.
