There is a point at ~ 2/3 of the way through the first half that we ended up with Barry, Ravern, Turner, Benock and Lewis ....or perhaps trade in Osby for Ravern in that same lineup, either way, that is a pathetic excuse for a team at that point. This goes beyond a tweak, or maybe play more Osby or Turner or whomever....this is downright terrible.
Spare me excuses about Sidney, Bailey,or Twanny or this or that. We have to do better with substitution patterns with the players we have currently available.
I have noticed that if the opposition has a relatively solidcenter that can play Jarvis man to man we are screwed. That allows the defenders to extend on the perimeter and contest our 3's. We often struggle to find an alternative at that point. Turner shooting from midcourt is not a good alternative.
Ravern has indeed proven to be a ***** as predicted.....but credit to him for driving with the basketball a few times and hitting some nice midrange jumpers. @ 6' 7" 160-170, there is no way he can play D in the SEC, no way.Hisdefense is HORRIBLE.
With Barry, Phil, and Dee available what the <17> is Osby doing dribbling the ball up the floor? See how Alabama broke down our pressure and scored easy transition buckets....try doing that, please.
Our Defense was ****** with skinny passive players getting taken repeatedly.....vs Olemiss Stans went to a zone to protectRiek, it worked. To his credit, we stuck with it. Our offense however sucked and we were getting our asses handed to us and Dee took overabout 3/4 of the way through the game. We won. Pelphrey exposed the Turner at the 4 against a decent big guy option, but we still won that game.Now Alabama has demonstrated how to defeat Dee pretending to be Jamont and "create" offense. What next? Seriously?and please don't say"make shots." That is weak.We have torun some sort of an offense to getgirls like Ravern an open look.
To repeat myself likethe fish guy: Our conditioning program SUCKS. To haveBarry, Jarvis and Ravern look like bean poles after 3-4 yrsin the program is awful. When teams get physical with us and the zebras let them play, we are at a serious disadvantage.
Demarcus Cousins is going tohave his way with Kodi at the4. Webetter shoot lights out vs Kentucky because they will get a lot of productivity down low.
