It would be real fun seeing us play a top 5 team regardless if they hand us a lopsided defeat.

I know polls usually don't mean **** unless you are in the top 25 but Washington State has been receiving votes in the polls. I think this is a much better game for us, for example if we beat Wash State then it will give us some confidence for a tourney appearance, but if we lose badly then we are still learning if this team is legit.

Washington State will definitely be a good barometer for where we are as a team as well as get us ready to play a very good Texas Tech or totally legit Pitt team. I am trying to keep my optimism contained because we are a young team but what I have seen thus far shows me we are actually playing better as a team than we did last year. Yes we lost Jamont and Rhodes-but I'm not too sure that is a bad thing. With them here we had two streaky superstars with a cast of supporting players-the game pretty much lived or died with them. This years team is just that-a team. There is a chemistry to this group of kids we haven't had in a long while. Stans getting 10-12 guys double sigit minutes on the court tells me a lot but mainly that he has confidence in this team. By getting these guys on the court early and often now will be a major benefit when we go up against teams like Pitt and when we hit conf. play because we will be a lot deeper not having to count on plyers who have had limited playing time. Just wait, I think we will all be impressed with where this team finishes.

Washington State and Texas Tech are teams that could be on the bubble come March. If we finish the year with 18-20 wins, losses to both of those teams could come back to hurt us. For that reason, it is imperative that we dont go 0-2 with losses to WSU and TTech.

And like everyone else, i hope we play Pitt. Those guys are good, and it would be an opportunity to show that we are too.</p>
