Noticed a tweet toward the end of our Men's BB game about subbing in some walk-ons for experience and someone responded that none of our walk-ons are eligible.

Anyone know 'why' none of the 3 walk-ons can play?

Also got to thinking about 'number' of players on the team. After 3 games, only 10 MSU players have stepped foot on the floor. With IJ out for a couple of weeks, we are down to 9 that can play and Jacoby is just now getting up to speed.
We have 7 players averaging ~ 20 min a game (from Applewhite ~18 a game to Thomas with 28.5), then Tyson is going @ 16+ / game clip.

Bottom line - Due to our limited numbers & increased emphasis on hand checks, we have got to stay both healthy & out of foul trouble to compete this year.

PS ... there will be 'several' games decided on the FT line this year; hopefully, we improve our FTs as the season progresses.

Many teams play 8 players and 9 is more than enough enough. The bigger concern would be additional injuries, or if your 7th, 8th, and 9th players weren't good enough.

1. There are actually 4 walkons and I have no idea why they can't play, but will ask today.
2. Fallou N'Doye has to sit out a year by NCAA decree.
3. In conversation with Coach Richard Williams, we are "paper thin" in the post. If Gavin Ware goes down with injury, we will be in deep doodoo.
4. Your bottom line is dead on!

Looking at the roster ...

Can count 4 walkons if you also include De'Runnya Wilson (along with ... Prater, Moore & Dobbs)

Thanks for trying to find out 'why' they can't play.

Per Coach Ray the only way De'runnaya plays is if he can handle his grades and again per Coach Ray it's something that is extremely difficult to do especially for a freshman, but if Wilson still wants and can handle the load then Coach Ray will speak with Mullen. As of now Wilson will not be playing basketball. Also if I'm not mistaken we have a player coming on board for the next semester Travis Daniels 6'8 but that's not confirmed.

Dallas Prater has mono. He should be back in two weeks. The other 2 are probably just not ready yet.

I know the plan is to redshirt daniels but i think that's going to get thrown out the window the first time colin or gavin or Ro sprains their ankle, we just have no other size.
