..the Florida game was a pretty embarrassing outing, hence I thought that would end the top 25 reign for MSU.

For everybody who thinks MSU doesn't get national respect, this appears to be the core definition of national respect.

a L @ florida is not embarrassing. the game wasn't a blowout, they pulled away in the end, but we didn't get our doors blown off. we dropped a couple of spots, but no way is that loss worth a 10+ spot drop in the polls. there are 320ish basketball programs out there and most of them lost a game last week. msu fans calling for us to plummet out of the polls after this "embarrassing" loss need to look around the country and realize we aren't elite and non-elite teams lose to other good teams on the road every night.

What it really came down to were the missed free throws. We were down 4 with 8 to play. They then hit a big 3 and went on a run to stretch it out. During that run, we made some careless mistakes that let it get out of hand. That is where the missed FT's came into play...if we are ahead or tied at that point, we don't start pressing like we did.</p> ETA - If you miss that many free throws on the road, you're just not going to win. It's that simple.
