Basketball question - why isn't Bailey playing more

Stans keeps on talking about how we're not "tough" and that guy is probably the toughest SOB we have and he's getting like 6 minutes a game. I don't understand why we can't run some sets with him and Jarvis in at the same time. Meanwhile while Stans is worried about our toughness he's apparently not reading Randy's boxscore line from the past few weeks. I just don't understand how he's regressed since his freshman year with his shot. Saying he's in a slump doesn't do it justice and honestly if he plays decent in our last couple of losses, we probably win those games. I'll also say that this point Bost seems to be a disappointment - a lot was expected out of him and it hasn't shown up yet. Hoping it's just a learning curve and he'll come around. For this season at least, we're missing Ben H.

when Jamont or Charles shot every time, its one thing. When Elgin Bailey does it, its a-whole-nother (apologies to President Stewie Griffin) thing.

not sure why, but my guess would be his constant desire to shoot the ball whenever he gets it and from wherever he gets it. i dont think ive ever seen him get it down low, let the defense collapse, then kick it back out for the open shot.
i do like that he is willing to try and drive from the top of the key, only because it shows he is aggressive and trying to create offense.

what really odds me out is why he sits due to being a liability(whatever that may mean to Stans), and yet others play all the time. Barry doesnt sit even though he goes 0-8 from deep and basically jacks it up every time he gets the ball. i really loved watching him dribble into trouble tonight, then get pressured by 2 players, work out of the pressure, and run to the top of the line only to jack up a total airball. WHAT WAS THAT?!?!
Ravern plays crap D, and he isnt benched. Jarvis does **** on offense, and he isnt benched.. Bost never finishes a layup and doesnt play smart, and he isnt benched.
random application of discipline...but that is normal for Stans.

Well I haven't seen a game yet but Bailey is typically like 1-3 in six minutes or something. All I know is that when the guy played last year he play hard, and was a tough rebounder.

I think we all agree that Stans isn't that great a floor coach but it just doesn't seem like any of the pieces are fitting well together that past few years and I'm struggling to put my finger on why that is.

While Barry has been bad, we don't really have a great alternative as I'm not sure Turner is really any better and I know Benock isn't - although he does do better at shot selection. I would like to see us at least experiment with Bailey at the 4 spot some - hell can't get any worse.

yeah, i agree that Bailey hustles. he is our second leading blocker, and has respectable numbers in that area for how little he plays on average.
but he really is a black hole with the ball. its almost funny to see, since you know its gonna happen.

of course, Stewart going 0-8 from deep and 3-14 overall last night kinda makes a case for him being a black hole too...so its not like Bailey is alone in his fault.

Ive seen Bailey shoot free throws in 5 or 6 games this season, and his form has really really improved. he is 15-26 so far this season. hell, he was 16-41 total last season.

For a while I thought me and a couple of my friends were the only ones who noticed Elgin's penchant for shooting every time he touched the ball. Aside from that, I hope Stans and the team will figure something out here soon so they'll be ready to go by SEC time.
