Anybody go to the exhibition yesterday? Any opinions? Saw the write-up on the official site, but just curious what anyone who went to the game might think.

I attended the game and it's safe to say that MSU WILL NOT finish any 4th place in the West! This team is the real deal. Judging by last night this team plays together really well and shares the ball...something that we have been missing for a long time. I was very impressed with Dee Bost and how he pushes the ball up the floor, plays defense, and the fact that he has already established himself as a leader. Before going into half time...about 4 or 5 players came up to him to give him High 5's. I don't think we will live and die by any single player (although Varnado will play a major role in how the year shapes up) like we did with Jamont Gordon last year. -This is truly one of the most athletic teams we have in years since bowers-zimmerman-frazier and I'm really can't wait to see how we fair. We have more than enough depth to go around (phil turner and twany beckham DNP). This team will be something to be reckoned with if we stay healthy. The major piece to the puzzle is DEE BOST and he alone staying healthy.....get to know the name fellas...he will be one of the greatest PG's to EVER come through Starkville.

*The only negative(s) to last night was Brian Johnson's lack of effort.....our 4 consecutive turnovers when Montevello switched to 2-3 zone....and our lack of half court game (which I didn't expect to see one playing Montevello...Rhodes will be missed in the paint for sure)

I saw the video over on Gene's Page, we have some new jerseys that are pretty damn good looking.

That will be awesome. While we had a very good true center and a couple of PF's playing center, we've never had a guy like Varnado that (hopefully) can do it on both ends of the floor. If he can give us 14-15ppg, that will be huge and will allow guys like Ravern and Dee Bost to score and not have to worry about carrying the load. Until Randy Stewart gets out of his shooting slump, if he ever does, we are going to have to rely on scoring from the big men more than ever before at MSU.

there was no video because the video was used for football yesterday.
there will be video of next saturday's exhibition game though, since no football.

...i really was surprised to hear that we dont have the capabilities to broadcast both in the same day.

I liked the new jerseys, too. They look to have a little more maroon.

I think the OOC schedule works well for this team. We start off with (what should be) some easy home games, then it picks up with a few road/neutral site games. I'm really not sure how good this team will be, but I think they'll be fun to watch. And chemistry should be better now.

Look who we were playing.
If you remember SWAT had some good games last year until we played a real team.
I think he will be improved on offense, but we can not count on him like we did with the porn star last year...

Bost, Ravern & Osby will be our offense...

It didn't have anything to do with playing real teams. It had to do with Rhodes and Gordon. Vanardo shot 67% during SEC play (against real teams). I'm not saying he's going to avg 18 to 20 pts a game, but I do expect him to avg. 14 or 15 ppg.
