Basketball strategy question

Was just watching the TN vs GTown game and was wondering what everyone's thoughts were on this...

TN misses a jumper with 41 seconds left in the game that GTown rebounds.... the score is TN 36 GTown 37. So you're down by 1 with 41 seconds left (6 second differential between game clock and shot clock).

Why wouldn't you start fouling then? Cuonzo Martin seemed content to let the clock wind down to 6 seconds and take his chances there. I'm not sure I agree with this. I would've probably sent them right to the line.

Luckily for him, GTown called a timeout with 21 seconds left. Then turned the ball over with about 15 seconds left and gave TN the chance to win (which they blew).

Gotta give your defense a chance to create the turnover first. Skyler McBee is a huge joke when games get tight. I've seen him airball more in his career than any recent player I can think of.

No universally right or wrong answer to this question. It's really about knowing your team and personnel. They can make you look like a genius or an idiot in that situation no matter what you do. The best coaches don't always win in this situation, they just win more than they lose...
