Thankfully not on the Rez. Remember back about 10 years ago when Jackson’s finest shot one of the fishermen?
has it been that long?

It's a good reminder to research hotels before staying, IIRC, that was a Motel 6 in Jxn. Also if someone is breaking in your car/boat/whatever at said establishment, probably best to just let it happen.

I always hated Columbus. Pickwick and Beaver Lake were my favorites.

It took me a while to learn the creeks.
I fished the state BASS tournament one time at Columbus under terrible conditions. It was a two day tournament. I had two fish that came in at a little over two pounds, and finished 48th out of something around 220 fisherman. We locked through to Aberdeen both days. The guy that won it had over 40 pounds. A couple of others were over 20. Well over half the field didn't catch a fish.

Columbus is tough. I tournament fished it a few times back in the 2000s. If you didn't have a limit by the time the sun got over the trees, you were done. Especially post spawn. Like anywhere else, you had a chance to pick up a couple on deep points, but felt like finding a needle in a haystack.
