This will be epic!
I watched Naz this weekend, and I can say with certainty that they have what appears to be a second gear. Initially, I predicted the game was headed towards a running clock after a few quick Simeon strikes, but Naz was simply on cruise control- feeling Simeon out, and making adjustments... great program! Hope to see a Naz/ MC ship...

Game is at Nazareth since Batavia has had 3 home games and Naz has had 2. I’m expecting Saturday at 1.

Yes, should be a terrific game and wish I could attend it, but will be at CG/NND.
Fake conference allegiances are fun but Go Cary. I enjoy watching their brand of football. It s heck of a program and seem to have a good relationship with Racki and Naz (not the posters lol).

I’m a Ty Gavin fan, he’s special but I see no reason to root for ND because we play them more often.

Classic Naz-centric / myopic point-of-view....

Classic Naz-centric / myopic point-of-view....
Why should I cheer for ND or JCA for that matter? Because they share a conference with Naz? Lol give me a break! How is that a myopic point of view?

I prefer the way CG plays football to ND, I prefer the coaching staff st CG. I can cheer for whomever I want, who cares in the grand scheme of things? Do you honestly want me to believe the people at JCA are rooting for Naz? Get real.

Rooting for Naz. Best sat day venue.
Plus, Naz mc sounds legit.
Dont like the naz venue but count me as another one rooting for naz. If MC wins it all, they win their 13th title. I think having the most counts for something so that's all. After the last few years thats really all we have left to hang our hats on. So whoever wins the Batavia vs naz game will be my 7a loyalty next week.

Not the fans, I’m talking coaches, admins etc. Most of the JCA fans here are pretty good dudes it would appear. I’ll bet the JCA, ND coaches etc aren’t rooting for Naz. Maybe not against them persay but certainly not wearing Navy on Saturday. I’m not rooting against ND I just prefer CG.

People are welcome to pick whoever and however they want. Trying to argue someone away from their predictions is not time well spent. The wiser move is to just bump the thread after the fact with an explanation of how you are right.

I’m a JCA dad and also rooting for Naz, ND and Marist. I feel proud that my team plays in such a competitive conference. If your fortunate enough to make it to the playoffs, you can believe that your there and made it for a reason. With that being said I’m hoping these coaches are spending there time and thoughts on their next game, and not spending time on a team not even on their schedule. Go Hill!!

I pull for the ESCC schools in the playoffs as well. It would be nice to think there is a bit of kinship among conference members, but it's fine if that does not exist. Obviously, everyone pulls hard for their respective school of choice. However, it is my contention that one of the traits of the "posse" mentality is a group of fans that see everything through the lens of their own school. They're seemingly incapable of acknowledging the accomplishments of others in an objective manner, and that extends to other conference schools. You also see it when discussion moves to a player or coach of the week. Said fan base will invariably bring up someone from their team or the respective coach. JMHO.

Although I try to stay out of the never ending battles of Public/private, I always cheer for the Catholic schools unless I have a family member or good friend at a public school.

We are the INP because I’d like to see Cary Grove beat ND simply because I prefer them? This is beyond ridiculous, it has absolutely nothing to do with Naz. Naz has been quite successful against ND and didn’t play them this year. I have no ill feelings toward ND except thinking their coach holds them back. I think Ty is great and love watching him play but I like watching CG more. I want to watch CG play at Champaign because to me that’s more entertaining. I guess that means I’m Naz-centric or whatever but that’s not going to change because Naz plays ND more frequently.

Homer is not just a poet, a Simpson or a roadrunner. It's not a uniquely Naz thing.

Maybe 10% of this board speaks highly of other schools. It's all "my school-centric" posts.

If you don't like Nazareth fans, or Nazareth, we get that. But you are ascribing a behavior to them that is not at all Nazareth specific.

But I should stop even talking, I'll just be called some new term.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I think PJJP was referring to the "posse" mentality in general. Not specifically the Naz posse

Oh no he was questioning me earlier. How dare I not root ESCC
LOL...actually, I do see your point.

Full disclosure: if both Naz and MC win (which I hope both will), I'll be rooting for MC in the title game. Just have more of a shared history and connection with the Caravan.

That's right.

Full disclosure #2: the Nazerenes do test my general allegiance to the ESCC. It ain't easy rooting for them, even though I have been up to this point.

That’s fine, root for whoever you want. No issues here.

Frankly I doubt how much Catholic schools even taught some of us. Maybe how to apply a multiplier and tie a tie.
