From what I'm reading review-wise, Luthor is one of the worst things about the movie. Affleck kills it. Superman is ... there.

Eisenberg plays a pretty menacing and entertaining villain, but it's a big departure from the traditional Lex. If you're open minded, I thought he was a good villain, but it's such a departure that it's a valid complaint for those who have a problem with that. Affleck is great. Superman is just kind of there in the first half. He's pretty solid in the second half I thought.

Wish they would of went with the rumored Bryan Cranston as Lex. I haven't been thrilled with the notion of Eisenberg since announced.

How hard is it to get him right? Rosenbaum has been and probably always will be the best.

Surprise surprise you found a review that dogged Snyder.

Travers, Roper and a few other guys I generally agree with liked it.

I like the show Gotham. Its crap, but as a fanboy, its great. I am sure I will like this movie. Seeing it Friday.

Gotham will start to do something I like (the Riddler stuff this week) and then do something so bizarre and stupid (Penguin brainwashed and his dad's creepy family).

And Gotham is really getting good. I'm not sure about the Penguin being a nice angle but Bruce on the street and Hugo Strange are great. Riddler is taking it up a notch.

I want Superman to be Superman and Lex Luther to be Lex. This isn't hard to comprehend.

Avengers is fun. Not everything should be told in a Batman style dark and gritty mood especially not Superman.

I guess you liked Superman returns better than Man of Steel
They both sucked.

I don't know that avengers has been fun. It just had the good sense to not play cartoon characters in spandex with the seriousness of zero dark thirty.

Critics think every Supes film should be a variation of the Donner take. Dopey Clark Kent, bright blue suite, saving cats out of trees and literally turning back time to save loved ones. Yawn

Maybe Superman is just not a relatable character. He has too much power to be challenged and it takes armies to over come him. It's just too much. Our superheroes need a touch of humanity to them. IMO, Batman is the only DC character that hits this note very well, while almost every Marvel character does. This is why the Marvel movies are better even though DC comics are better comics.

Mos>>>>>every Donner pos.Tdk>>>>>>>>>>>>every marvel pos.
 I'd rather watch Superman 1 and 2 than Man of Steel TS.

The Dark Knight is a great great film better than the Marvel movies but it is not a very comic book take of Batman. The Marvel movies embrace their comic origin and are more fun in that way in many respects. Then again the Dark Knight isn't even my favorite Batman movie.

I'd say the most ideal Superman movie would be a movie with Superman Returns tone with Man of Steel's action set pieces and a not recycled plot of Lex Luther ultimately just wanting some land to rule.

Anyone who thinks Superman isn't relatable should read "All-Star Superman." I'm not a huge Superman fan, but that book nails everything good about the character.

I love Superman 1 & 2, but mainly for nostalgic reasons. They do not hold up well today. Same for Burton's Batman takes.

I also think Clark Kent being a complete goober traditionally helps make Superman relatable. I think you sort of need that with the character.

I actually enjoyed MOS even though it got a little redundant. I'm still going Friday but my expectations have been tempered the entire time this has been in production.

The comic, "What ever happened to Truth, Justice, and the American Way" is a good one too.

Oh god. The movie is entertaining for stretches but its a mess. Its 5 movies in 1 and the storylines dont connect as well as it should . I bet in a year or two someone will do a fan edit and cut out the crap we dont need that drags the movie down and it will turn into a damn good movie. Snyder should of cut the movie down to 2 hours ... there was 30 minutes in this movie that just wasnt needed at all and it brought the movie down.

Hopefully suicide squad makes up for this disappointment.

I liked MoS and I liked BvS, but I can see where the critics are coming from. I'm surprised the BvS score is in the 30s. My guess after seeing it Monday night was that it'd be somewhere in the 50s. I think a lot of fans will like it, some will love it, but there will be a fair share who don't. I don't think the general public will be that high on it.

Thor 2 Got like 66% good reviews.Explain how that pos movie got double that of BvS.Im not asking for it to get a Oscar and i thought Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the best comic book movies ever made so i dont hate Marvel But again 1 out 4 at the very least its 2.5 out of 4.Plus the critics i trust the most as unbought gave it a thumbs up or 3 out of 4

You have to understand that critics cant just say.... oh that movie has some really great stuff in it so it gets a pass. There were CGI parts to the movie like Batman in the final battle...just sloppy CGI and that drops the score. Lex Luthor annoyed a lot of people so I can understand why that dropped the score. Like I said before it was 5 movies into 1... that drops the score because its too scattered. Then they forced in the introduction of the justice league members... just blah.... No one wanted to see Wayne's killed again... Snyder you idiot... ugh...

There was brilliance in this movie... Snyder just dropped the ball in the editing room. Like I said above.... when someone cuts the fat off of this and does a fan edit.... I guarantee you the movie can become amazing and would be something that would get good reviews from critics.

I know we've seen it a million times, but this was probably my favorite version of that scene.

Could of been saved for the future Batman movie though. And damn I cant wait for that movie. Batfleck is my favorite batman now. Just wish Ledger was still alive because those two together could of been the greatest movie ever made.

Agreed ^ I thought Affleck nailed it. Thats my problem with some critics once you watch it you think the buzz would be how Affleck honored the role well but no im being told that only a comic book fan would understand some parts.Well Snyder more than Whedon honors his comics.

I agree, critics get on kicks. Marvel could film Robert Downey Jr. taking a dump for 2 hours and the critics will still lap it up. There was one review that I read (BvS) and they gave it an average review and said they had seen it twice and planned on seeing at least a third time. Yup, sounds like a total **** fest to me.

I am sure I'll be in the minority and love it. I like Snyder and I loved MoS.

Its funny that the TV side seems to be handling things better than the movies for DC. .. other than Gotham / Batman which the movie does great and tv show does not so good.

If I really had my preference, I would make a Batman Netflix series based off The Long Halloween. Each month could be one of the 13 episodes and you could introduce a lot of different villains. If/when that is a success, you could do a second season based off of Dark Victory.
