This is the most unusual season in the district I have ever witnessed in all the years I have followed HS football! Questions need to be answered and I am confused! With the three big teams over the years 0 and 3 is Courtland JM and KG this bad or the teams they have played that good? Courtland has almost it's entire team back from last year and winless! Jm lost a good back and some other db's to Stafford but they have plenty of talent and winless! KG is a huge team with many players and look like loads of talent and been blasted in their three losses! I am totally baffled at these teams! Well I guess I have to try to rank the teams so here we go!
# 1 Eastern view 3 @ 0: no surprise here as the view has blasted their first 3 opponents!
# 2 Courtland 0@ 3: This was our tv game this week and the cougars played almost the entire game against a very good Stafford team but mistakes did them in in the fourth quarter! Their offense looked bad very conservative but the defense played well enough to win! Stafford has a good defense so maybe that's why Courtland looked conservative! It's terrible to rank a team # 2 that's 0 @ 3 but my hunch the cougars will go on a winning streak by district time as they was 0 and 4 a few years ago and still won the district.
# 3 JM 0@ 3: still believe the jackets are third best in the district. I believe they will be fine by district time as they like always have quickness and talent as I have watched all their games on TV! They have trouble stopping people and they have no identity on offense! Never count Serbay team out as he will get this team better by the district play as they have played tough teams like Courtland has the first 3 games!
# 4 Caroline 1 @ 2 : surprised? Not me! Caroline played a very good Patrick Henry team on Monday and stuck with them well until turnovers killed them! Friday they defeated Powhatan a team that may not have the team in the past but still has a good football program! I have been calling on the cav's and coach yeats to start showing improvement and looks like now it is starting to take place! Yeats is a good coach and I am glad for him!
# 5 Spotsy 2 @ 0: had a bye Friday night and I will be a first to tell you if they pull off a win at Orange this week my ranking for them will surprise You! Good luck my boys from post oak I am proud of you!
# 6 KG 0@ 3: I hate to rank my old buddy Jeff Smith team this low but I see no improvement in the foxes as they seem to have trouble with speed! In their defense they have played a tough schedule but they haven't been competitive in the games. Still believe Jeff Smith will get it together by district play but as of now I see them at # 6.
# 7 chancellor 0@ 3: looks like now the chargers just don't have enough talent to be competitive even in district play! Graduation and transfers have devastated this team but coach Glessner is a good young coach and will do whats best with what he has to work with!
