There will be a lot of pressure on the next coach to run that program by the book. There will also be a lot of oversight over the football program as well. Not sure who wants to step into that mess.

I guess we found the next coach at UL, I am sure the response from the UL crowd will be similar to the response that they had about brining in the Alabama linemen. I changed the quote so it fits the Baylor situation and it will be easier for the UL trash to copy and paste it.

I'm not really sure why you wouldn't bring someone like this in for a visit and learn first hand why he was dismissed from Baylor. You hear his version of it, then talk to the administrators at Baylor to learn their version. You learn something about his character in that process. Then once you know all of the facts, you decide whether he's worth offering a head coaching position to....

Wonder if the AD and the University Prez Kenneth Starr are next on the chopping block?

Yet another situation where one just wonders - What the hell is the role of law enforcement if they are not charging those involved - even if it is governmental interference

Petrino was banging a hired long-legged assistant to the tune of 40k salary. Dude, Richie Farmer spent time in jail for nearly the same crime. Yet UL has given him a record salary.

Starr has been demoted to chancellor of one of the departments, AD has been put on probation.

If he SEC or NCAA doesn't step in, he will be the coach at AU in 17 if Gus doesn't win at least 8 and Bama better be one of the 8, another loss to Bama and 10 may not save him.

Butch Jones is now a nervous man.

Just to save time waiting for a UT fan I will go ahead and say it Butch did the right thing. Of course he did, charges were already filed before he knew about it, he then got the heads up call from the UT fan on the Knoxville PD and he spent all night talking to his player trying to get their stories straight. Baylor being a faith based university had no choice but to fire, UT not being faith based will do everything they can to not fire Butch.

Also during the multi-phone calls to the attorney, managed to secure the perp a job. Botch was playing his A-game.

Extremely doubtful.....We tend to forget that this is a Private Baptist Christian School and their code of conduct for employees is not like anything on state campuses. Yet, they did not take too long after discoveries of coaches "interferences" came to light...and that is probably the ONLY reason why...

UT is doing that Deny until I die or get caught - Like that City School North of Big Blue Campus !

Art Briles will have to sit out this upcoming year, but next year there will be a bunch of D1 programs that will want him. For better or worse. He was courted by several this past year and now REALLY wishes he'd taken one.

No way, Briles is nuclear waste, untouchable by only ul if them. He is now like Ray Rice, the story of him and his staff discouraging and attacking rape victims finishes him practically for good.

UL is now relaxed. A successor is in hand. No worries of Krag or Ron Cooper taking over after Petrino steps down.

Again, from what I know what Briles and Baylor did was no more egregious than what Jones/Tennessee have done. And UofL is just a sad little joke. No one expects anything from that swill-hole.

I've always thought there were strange things happening at Baylor with both football and basketball. Both programs were awful for decades and it seemed like all of a sudden around 2009 they were recruiting elite players and got really good really fast. Something just didn't add up.

Here in TX, there seems to be no in-between on Briles: you either think he's a man of faith and good guy or you think he's the anti-Christ. Sort of odd. I'm glad BU had the moral fiber to fire him. I can't imagine another D1 school taking a chance on him. They fired him quickly once the charges came to light. Obviously, he was very involved in the coverup and I would be shocked if any school could get away with hiring him after this. No one was beating down Sandusky's doors and he wasn't publicly humiliated until much, much later after he stepped down. No, I think Briles is done coaching D1 football.

Weird to me that the underage issue is never even mentioned-------although when UL doesn't get the punishment they deserve they can make up for it by hanging the Madam.

If there is a need jurich would welcome him with open arms, he would fit in great there, and IF the NCAA said anything jurich would probably tell them to kiss his A$$, like he did with hurtt.

Turtleneck has Briles pegged for the job when Bobby Neckbrace leaves his next flaming bag of dung on Turtleneck's porch. Otherwise, Briles is finished coaching at this level.

Yes, indeed. Coach Briles and Ken Starr are done. No one wants another SMU death penalty and this case would qualify had Baylor's regents tried to cover it up. On the other hand, none of us have any realization of the desire to win in Texas football. This exists from pee wee league to college. Just think for a moment how Johnny Manziel managed to last as long as he did at A&M. The Aggie administration and athletic dep't allowed Mr. Manziel to play when he should have been expelled as a freshman.

Let the Jarrett Stidham competition begin! I doubt we show much interest, if the staff feels Jones is as solid as we all hope.

Apples to oranges, Sandusky was actually the one committing the crimes, he wasn't a head coach who had completely turned a program around and he had retired when everything hit the fan. No way he could sit in a living room and say he would protect your son. Briles was guilty of covering up a crime, a head coach who had turned an annual losing program into a bigtime winner and an active coach. He would be able to tell parents he would do anything to protect their son, because there is proof he has.. A desperate program will hire him unless he is banned by the NCAA or conference, or in jail.

wow...

I guess it shouldn't be too big of a surprise...they climbed out of the dump pretty quickly...

not a lot of time for standards, morals, ethics or respect for women when trying to get to the top...

he built his program on high risk kids that may have had the talent to play at the big boys but a few too many red flags...kind of like another program i know of...

live by the sword, die by the sword...
