Weird feeling game. No excitement or energy. A lot of empty seats. Kentucky had a 13 point lead and suddenly it’s only 4 at halftime. I don’t think Kentucky is bad, but anybody thinking this team is contending for anything is fooling themselves. This team probably isn’t even top 5 in the SEC. The talent isn’t there.
Idk about everyone else but I’m sick and tired of watching dog crap basketball. My God if we can get our football into top 10 then there’s absolutely no reason our basketball should be less than top 5 every single year. Screw Pope man.
People talk about Zoom but Alex has also looked bad this preseason.
We may have a repeat of the Zion Duke game in the CC this year the way we look so far depending on who can suit up for Kansas.
Perimeter defense looks worse than middle school team, one phantom screen and we get lost. No talking on defense either, defense is about fundamentals and we sure look lacking in them at this point……this is ucf and not anything like we will see in the SEC.
he has played around 60 minutes in all the exhibition games so far. about 5-6 of them have been of high quality. and at the end of the game.
You have to look at who was in there when they went on their run, as good as BH looked offensively , he can’t keep up with a 2 guard thus open looks

That’s the Pope special. It’s what he’s been his whole career. Never would have sniffed the job if he didn’t play here. Barnhart needs charged with treason.
wilkins has made a few shots at the end of both games and that was the final impression that some folks have latched onto. but if you look at the total body of work the alarms should be going off.
If you are an elite PG, why would you want to come to UK with Pope wanting to run the offense through a big at the top of the key?
That's pretty much my feeling at the moment. Just not a ton of top level SEC talent from what we've seen so far. Maybe the pieces will just fit at some point and we can be better than our individual talent? It's certainly possible.
How furious will you be if we go to a Final Four this year?
His mentality is like Jasper right now. Makes a nice move and shot then shoots awful shots . His shot selection hasn't improved one bit in 3 games. Why did we sign Momcilovic? Our best shooter doesn't get shots?

I’m sorry! I just don’t see it. If he turns this team into anything, I would be shocked. My hunch is that he won’t and this will be his last year at the helm. Love Pope but he ain’t it. What will Stein is doing proves that coaching matters.

Defense was great against TTU. If we still look like this on defense, regularly, at the end of November, I'll be concerned.

Somebody the other day said we upgraded our roster in every position. I was called a DA for saying Chandler is a better player than Wilkens. I might indeed be a DA but it’s not for that statement.
Not a coach but I play one on message boards. I’d give Wilkins the ball and tell him his first job is to facilitate others. No more one on one ****. I think he’s more talented and has better vision than Zoom. Play Mason at the 2. Run some damn sets for Milan and Malachi.
