BCS again screws everything up

Why would anyone pit TCU against Boise State? I understand that it really doesn't matter after Alabama/Texas (which I believe is the right matchup), but why not Georgia Tech vs. TCU and Boise vs. Iowa? Florida vs. Cincinnati will be very telling. I for one would watch those matchups before I would watch GT vs. Iowa, who the eff cares? We could deal with all this small conference undefeated stuff right off the bat. Schedules aren't changing anytime soon, so why not get the matchups when we can?

I love the Alabama/Utah and Oklahoma/Boise matchups, but I'd rather see a team like GT (who has just won their conference title, not limping in like Alabama last year or Florida this season) play the undefeated little man teams.

Rose bowl is set, you don't mess with tradition. But what's happened is they've made 2 BCS bowls relatively unimportant. Fiesta and Orange routinely gets the shaft in that regard. They really either need to fix this or toughen up the little guy's schedule so they don't go undefeated.

and let them prove they belong with the big boys, but nope, they match up two small *** schools, allowing all the talk to continue. Almost seems like they're scared after the Utah debacle last year.

Terrible, terrible matchups.

that they could pick and choose this stuff after the BCS rankings were finished, outside of the Rose and Sugar conference tie-ins. And even then, they are vs. at-large. And if it's all about the money and TV rankings, then they failed miserably.

Guess all that matters is who's paying behind the scenes, looks like the guys who protect the cash cows like Bama ponied up for than the guys who like to see the Utahs and TCUs of the world win a game or two. So much damn corruption it makes you not want to even watch it.

That's why I like college baseball so much, the big money hadn't gotten to it yet. The only corruption is LT lobbying for MSU...

By not letting TCU play Florida and matching them up against Boise. They let two non BCS schools in but don't allow them proven that they can beat the big boys. Because if they would allow florida to play TCU and Boise to play Iowa/Ga Tech you could end up with two non bcs schools undefeated.

The BCS only guarantees a 1 vs. 2 matchup. The Rose Bowl gets the Pac 10 vs. Big 10, the Fiesta gets the Big 12, the Sugar gets the SEC, and the Orange Bowl gets the ACC champs.

The Sugar picked Florida as it replacement for Bama, then the Fiesta bowl got to pick its Big 12 replacement...it choice TCU. The first at large pick went to the Orange Bowl, which took Iowa and its 30 to 40,000 fans over Cincinnati or Boise State. The Sugar Bowl got the next at large pick, they took UC, which left Boise as the last at large pick for the Fiesta.

Once 1 vs. 2 is set, the other BCS bowls don't work together to get the best match-ups, they look out for themselves.

would like to see TCU vs Florida, Cincy vs Ga Tech and Boise vs Iowa. At least I know I would. The big ten was about as much of joke as the big 12 north. As for as Iowa I think any team that almost loses to FCS team should not be in a BCS bowl period.

Cincy, GT, Boise, and Iowa gets anybody excited outside of the respective fan bases. I will watch them bc it's football and it's on TV but the FOX people have to be cringing at those matchups.. Iowa and GT? Ouch. TCU and Boise? Yikes. I like TCU, but still....

Iowa and GT may as well be the measuring blocks. Very good teams, 10 wins. You have to win these types of games first before the National Title chance comes.

Mid-majors have 2 chances to get there. Schedule the big boys on the road and go beat them, and two, beat them in BCS games.
