BDC Question

I'm about to renew my season tickets (for the first time) and on hailstate.com through my dogtag login... it's offering me the same 4 seats in the same section as last year.

I was under the impression that since I am currently a season ticket holder, that my seats would be selected based upon my BDC rank. Meaning that when my number got called, I'd get to pick the best seats available.

Is this right? Or am I just a moron? Or both?

I'll hang up and take your answer off the air.

Unless you make a request, you get the same seats you had last year. But, I recieved a card from the BDC last week with a web address on it. When I got on the web site it basically wanted a phone number and email address so they could contact you about changing seating location. Alot of seating changes will be made for 2014 with the new end zone seating, I may wait until then to change seats.

You will keep the same seats you had last year. You can call and ask for better seats, and if something comes available they will give you a call. Probably like mid-summer.

You are basically guaranteed your seats if you continue to meet BDC obligations.

Apparently everyone will be re-seated in 2014 when the expansion opens, and I assume after than it will fall back to you keep your seats if you pay your dues.

Thanks. I got the card too.

I was really hoping that I wouldn't be at the back of the line still, but I guess that's the case.

You will be able to select your seats based on your rank for the 2014 season... that's due to the reseat of the entire stadium. The card you recieved is just for seating in the new North Endzone... You can request new seats this year and whether you get them or not will be based on your rank, but you are guarenteed your current seats. I've basically requested and recieved new seats almost every year until this one, since I finally got all my seats together and where I want.

I think that the problem is, even if you outrank someone in BDC points, you still won't bump them unless the voluntarily give up there seats or move. I know people who I outrank but they have better seats because they have had them longer. I think the 2014 reseating will address this, some people will be happy and some are going to be pissed. If they add enough elevators on the west side, I'll be happy to keep my seats, third level chair backs 40 yd line, the game view is great but those ramps are a beach!

Thanks. I think I am going to request new ones. I've got 2 sets of 2 seats and I'm going to try to get all 4 together this year.

Question about upgrading seats. Whats the best way to go about it? A phone call? Online form?

I've been in the same seats since year 1, BDC priority much higher now but I've never gone through the trouble of requesting new seats.

The card I got with the website address was wanting me to make a deposit for the new endzone premium seating. But I like the present CL seats I have ... but will be moved in the 2014 season, most likely for worse seats. I'm on the 35-40 yard line now.

Phone call. Just tell them what you want (add seats, different row / section, etc).

I called last year to primarily add two seats. As a secondary request I wanted to get them all together.

When they got around to filling requests, they called with a couple of options. Add two tickets, all together, but move to another row. Or keep my original two and add two more a few rows up.

Exactly right, and while I'm sorry for those that will be bumped, I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't looking forward to several hundred people getting the hell out of my way in 2014. As big of an issue that this was for the Hump a few years ago, I think it's even worse at DWS. They most likely just haven't done anything about it because the process is going to be ten times worse to coordinate as it is for basketball.

My understanding is that contributors to the Today and Tomorrow(or whatever) fund will get first selections, and then it will be standard BDC priority rank after that.

Guess the athletic dept. is trying to keep people happy for the time being best they can. Didn't a lot of long time ticket buyers get pissed off when the Hump got reseated by virtue of giving levels. And seems when that happened along with moving the students that the atmosphere has really never been the same since. A number of those that got pissed likely quit buying tickets altogether and I know we want to avoid that in football. Need every supporter to KEEP buying tickets to compete in the league we are in.

Not sure if most of you know this or not... but in talking about many of the prime seats at DWS(specifically chairbacks on the West side), not only are people occupying those without currently giving all that much, but many of them are getting complimentary "legacy" season tickets as well. Don't get me wrong... I'm not implying that these people haven't done something to earn them, but the bottom line is... who would you rather be pissed off? Someone who's donating money today/tomorrow or someone that did something for you 25 years ago?

When I called to speak with the BDC about this, I was told contributors to the "Today, Tomorrow, Forever" campaign will get priority for new seating in the North endzone, but not for the rest of the reseating.
