Over two different stints, he did 18 seasons of Yellow Jackets football...was very good at it

Last year, they alternated, pretty much using anybody who was at home and free on a Friday night...some broadcasts (Bart Gregory, for example) were very good, other broadcasts (such as the one where the play by play guy did not know the rules of overtime) were awful</p>

I bet Jim thinks to him self after every Miss State football game, "when is that old bastard going to die?"

One: Mr. Ellis is basically retired now. Other than calling State games, he will just do what retired people do...run in his case (he runs 5 miles a day, even after having some heart issues).

Two: He's called Starkville games for this long to stay in practice so he will be ready when the times comes for Jack to give up the ghost. I want to say he's done some basketball in the past for the same reason.
