I must admit I am now full on jealous. I can't decide what is worse, that these evil geniuses have come up with a plan to sell a $3.00 bucket and lid for $70.00, or that people actually buy them. Many have argued why the $350 cooler is worth it for holding ice for 2 weeks and keeping zombies out, but this is a straight up five gallon bucket.

Hahahaha. The coolers are legit, and they have some other cool stuff, but they are 17ing crooks for selling this stuff at what they do. Igloo makes a rotomolded cooler that is less than half the price of a Yeti. I want one but haven’t talked to anyone who owns one.

I have deep respect for the geniuses in this company's marketing department. I cannot say the same for their customer base. I own no Yeti products, but am happy to place my six pack of 16 ounce Coors in one when available.

I received one as a gift******

The cheapest guy I know got one for Christmas and is trying to justify it now. His son bought it for him, after the guy just bought a boat.. a 1964 20' Aluminum fish/ski for $300 dollars. I told him rule number 1 is you never spend more the 10% of your boat budget on the bailing bucket.

I got a Yeti bucket for Christmas. Don't think I've ever been so confused by a gift. Just could not believe someone would spend a $100 on a 5 gallon bucket. It came with a "bucket tool belt". So ridiculous.

I got a burgundy colored Buddha candle for Christmas from my sister when I was about 11. It was very confusing. I think this bucket would be a really close 2nd.

The irony of it all is I'm insanely anti-Yeti. I have a custom Igloo decal on my truck for Christ sake.

It's a real slap in the face. Even if its free, I can't stand the thought that they profited because of me. When we bought my wife's new car last year, the dealership tried to give us 2 yeti tumblers with the dealership's logo. I refused and made them get something else. The only other thing they had was remote control cars that looked like her vehicle. I carried my toys out of there with head held high.

Yeti is marketing genius. People are used to crap coolers/tumblers/buckets and Yeti impresses people with their products. Sure, their stuff costs more and is better than what you've been using, but that's because you've been using cheap crap. Just quit buying cheap crap and spend half the money you would spend on a Yeti. That means going from a $50 cooler to a $150 cooler, etc. No need to spring for a Yeti.

My Yeti coolers were a gift. I wanted one but refused to pay the price. I can actually say now, I love the coolers. I also use the coozies and tumblers and they work fantastic!
This bucket thing and the $100 gal. jug are beyond me!

I held 10 bags of ice in a 150 quart igloo in New Mexico on an elk hunt in September for a week. Highs in the 70s everyday. No one will ever be able to convince me to spend hundred of dollars on a flipping cooler.

You can get a bucket full of oil for less than an empty yeti bucket.

This is awesome. I just did a little quick shopping search. For $15 less than the Yeti bucket and lid, you can get a sealed 5 gallon bucket of 5W30 Synthetic Blend and a 48 qt cooler from Walmart.

Yeti is generally a good product that is significantly overpriced, but I swear by my 32oz Yeti cup. Making my morning coffee last til lunch and having it stay hot the whole time is wonderful. Of course, like everything else Yeti, there is a Walmart knockoff that is just as good for half the price.

That bucket is even worse than a $7.95 Wal Mart tumbler being sold with a $45 price tag with the Yeti name on it. They perform the same. And it probably costs about 50 cents to produce in China.

But many of us spend $500 on a new driver that costs no more than $20 to make.

In continuing with the spirit of this thread, do the math on the price of bottled water vs gasoline per gallon. Our great grandparents would laugh themselves silly at our wastefulness.

Here’s my stance on Yetis: they are 100% worth the money for long term cold storage.

The problem is there are rather few situations annually that require 2+ days of ice storage. Once a year we’ll take ours to the beach and leave it in the condo, or use it for ice on a road trip. If you were going to a 2 or 3 day camping trip, it would be great.

My wife has a Yeti cup and lost the top. I gave her the top from my tractor supply knockoff and it fits perfectly. I think they are all exactly the same

Not just situations that require several days of ice storage, but situations where you require several days of ice storage and the massive weight of the yeti's is not a problem. The only thing I've seen that makes sense is on boats large enough to do multiday trips on but not large enough for an icemaker. Or alternatively, boats that are small enough that you are going to need to be able to confidently stand on the cooler because of space constraints while fishing.

A Yeti bucket!? I bet that thing could keep a 3-flush dump warm for days!

I agree with you that they have great utility in specific situations. One of the main ones is keeping small town hardware stores and specialty shops open with huge profit margins.

I always admire a business that can not only get you to buy their product at a heavily inflated price, but also get people to pay them to advertise for them with stickers and t-shirts.

It's genius.

I am a construction manager and usually have several projects going around the South East USA. I keep a cooler in my truck with water and drinks 24/7. I use to have to add ice daily during the summer. Now it's usually once a week. If it's not to hot, I can fill up Sunday evening and still have ice when I get home Friday. It's worth it to not have to grab ice every day.

Funny story.....................
I had an xray tech on one of my projects that was always wanting a Yeti for his truck. He was looking at mine one day and one of the welders came up with a brand new Yeti. He started the whining about not being able to afford a Yeti. The welder gave him one of the Yeti stickers that came with his cooler. The xray tech cleaned up his old white 10 year old Igloo and stuck the sticker on it. That night at the hotel someone stole the Igloo with the Yeti sticker on it. He was pissed the next morning. I told him don't feel bad, just think how pissed that thief was when he got the cooler in light and saw it was an old Igloo!

I got the tool belt for my birthday. Not real sure what I’m supposed to do with it without the cool yeti bucket. Not sure if it works on a regular bucket or not. Haha. I didn’t even know there was a yeti bucket

why do you need to keep 32 ounces of coffee hot all day? Can you not drink a 12 ounce cup in the morning and go BACK to the coffee pot or store and get 12-16 more ounces later if needed?

I don't really have a use for one but a couple of times a year. I don't own one but i do go backpacking with friends usually during april or may and one of them received one as a gif. he loves it. It is nice to fill the cooler full of beer and ice and then when you get off the trail 3 days and 25 miles later you have ice cold beer ready for you. The dollar value of an ice cold beer immediately off the trail is hard to place, but I would put it probably around half the price of a yeti cooler and more in the price range of the igloo equivalent

Not me. I bought the cheap $7.50 'knock off' stainless steel, no logo, ones from Wal*Mart! Anybody got a spare YETI sticker laying around?
I agree, I bought the Yeti's before the knock offs were available. Have several of those now, and yes they work just as good.

Absolutely. The only time I get bottled water is when traveling and there's no other choice. My tap water filtered by my whole house filter, then filtered again by the refrigerator is just fine.

I'd be willing to bet

fishwater has 4-5 of these, and guitardog, too.

You've got to be kidding. The only thing worse would be getting the damn tool belt without the bucket. And no it won't work on a regular bucket. So the only way to use your "tool belt" now is to go buy a $70 freaking bucket. What a gift* Rant over. Haha

Saw this not too long ago and bought the Ozark Trail one myself. I pour it full of coffee about 6:30 a.m. and when I get around to drinking it about 9:30 @ work it's perfect.View attachment 9268
