I didn't, but man, that was fun, I am hoarse! :)

Anyway, what we LEARNED tonight was
  1. Agudosi IS the SECOND OPTION RECEIVER that will compliment Carroo the best and keep the DB's honest. He needs to start as the other wideout and they need to find a scheme ....fast.
  2. Martin is our RB horse, even though Paul James had the back breaking score. Gotta ride him
  3. Laviano thru some bullets, but almost as many bad ones. A work in progress, but good overall
  4. Our bend/Don't break defense doesn't quit. They fight till the end. Cioffi blossoming
  5. In Federico we trust, despite the blocks which weren;t his fault really. He can win games
Will it translate to holding off the best team in the country next week?? Crazy things can happen, but I'll take another MSU like moral victory for sure. Just please, no more blowouts

Proud fan.

"bend but don't break defense" has me cracking up right now! I'm as happy as anyone but we did give up 52 points and 630 yards of offense lol! This is a good laugh - not laughing at you - all good!

That being said agree wholeheartedly re: Martin. Love PJ, but, it's time for the sophomore to carry the load (and Hicks is a fumble waiting to happen, unfortunately...).

When we cut it inside 14 I thought we had a good shot, it was anybody's game

Bend don't break defense? More like let everything breeze thru the first 3 qtrs. But I'm exstatic we won.

I try to remain relatively low-key during games (someone has to be that way so they can bail out @RU848789 - he breaks stuff all the time and it's only a matter of time till he gets arrested LOL). So I tend not to do the bipolar-like highs and lows I see other people experience and I never really give up on a game until it's just impossible to come back.

But while I didn't give up on it, I didn't exactly expect to come back either. So the 4th quarter was a nice surprise.

Was certainly fun. As I said in my thread, I was ready to get up and leave, but I basically said to our group that there was still a lot of time left and if we could just get a score or two by early in the 4Q, we'd have a chance. So I stayed and hoped (while two of our friends left) and was rewarded.

I'll disagree with you a bit on Laviano, as I thought he only threw a few bad passes and had far more good ones. Federico was to blame for the XP misses, too - he hit the ball way too low. Happy for him, though, that he nailed the game winner.

I think in general thats the M.O. of the Defense, tonight was not like that early, but it was late. The fast tempo offenses keep us off balance alot, and we did get gashed, but they stiffened up the 4th quarter for sure.

Laviano had more than couple bad passes that were behind, over, late, and just ill advised, but their was more good than not, for sure. Those bombs were perfectly timed and placed.

I will admit, I walked away from the TV to eat dinner but left the volume on. I heard the announcers when they muffed the punt and then sat down again. I thought we could score but not stop them three times.

I slammed the table at the OB after IU went up 52-27, knocking my nearly empty beer glass over, lol. Screamed and cursed quite a bit, too, but also went nuts cheering.

You must be getting old. Was it last season or two seasons ago when you slammed the table at Hailey's and broke a nearby beer mug? Actually, that was kind of impressive given that beer mugs aren't the thinnest of glass.

Honestly, I agree, it's not that we SCORED that I was surpised, because we were moving on them in general all night, the 3 STOPS IN A ROW and 2 PICKS we got were REALLY what got me thinking it could be done. ..Still, I thought if given time, they would have scored, so, glad the clock worked to our advantage, good management down the stretch. Wow..just wow..

even when we got close I thought for sure all those missed XP's would come back to haunt us

At 18 I held out a little hope but at 25 thought it was over and I'mt not someone who'll over react to the usual ebbs and flows of games but this was really something. Of course we could narrow the lead, but it would be hard to assume that a team that put up 52 points through 3 qtrs wouldn't score another point the rest of the game for us to have a chance to close the gap completely.

I was as close to turning the game off more than ever before, but I never can. Glad I could set the example for my kids, don't ever give up!

After Maryland last year why wouldn't you have hope. Rutgers wasn't playing Cincinnati in 06 when you knew it was over

I never had a doubt. Jimmy V. said it best--don't give up, don't ever give up. Greg said it well too--Keep chopping.

I am accused of being part of the blue sky crowd. Anybody who knows anything about me is that I don't let negativity dampen my will to win and survive.
