On Selection Sunday, I always prefer to be chosen to the NCAA's, as you never know what can happen.
Would I prefer a deep NIT run to winning one in the NCAA tourney and then losing? I don't know, probably prefer the NCAA then. Maybe an NIT Championship would be better. Anything less and I would prefer two and out in the NCAA's.

Everybody is dying to get into the dance and it's over for half of them the first day.
I can't really vote because to me it just depends, but I do like our NIT bracket. I like the interesting teams in it that we don't normally get to play and I like our chances to win the thing. It is exciting to have UNC coming Saturday, giving us a chance to be UCLA and UNC in the same season. I do think the extra work helps our team, even though we are experienced. I also think that our level of play in this tourney is a test of the character of this team, and I think they'll pass the test. We'll see.

Win the NIT or One & Done in the Big Dance. The final results were 51% would have rather gone Dancing. I'd rather go Dancing as well and thought that poll was a lot closer than it should have been.

In the end, I think the result of the NIT is better, but if we are a 4 seed, that means we had a damn good season. We would probably still be ranked higher at the end of the season as a 4 seed 1 and done as opposed to going to the championship game in the NIT.
...Miss. State actually has about a 20% chance of winning the NIT.

Making the NCAA tournament is a reward for success, & puts you on the path to true college basketball glory, but I really don't see the use in playing in the NCAA tournament if you are going to get beat the first game. That's just a waste of everybody's time.

I know one thing. I would rather be where we are than what happened to Vandy today. I mean the UK loss hurt really bad, but I couldn't imagine that.
I would rather make a deep run in the NIT. If the role was reversed and we barely got in the NCAA as a double digit seed and beat a higher seeded team of course I would rather go to the big dance. I just know how pissed I would be if we made it to the tournament, were a high seed and then **** the bed.
Well obviously you don't know the results ahead of time. However, this question assumes you know State makes a deep run in the NIT which means you beat UNC at home in front of a packed house and made a trip to NYC. In addition, we would prove we were deserving to be in the NCAA based on the NIT and carry some excitement into next year. Rather than being disappointed in our showing in the NCAAs and saying what we all have been saying about UF and Vandy. I know last years NCAA game is very forgettable.

I see no positives to the NIT side of this argument. Its not like football where playing a little extra is going to make you that much better.

Oh come on. I can see the shirt now. On the back at the top it has in big letters NITChampsville. Just below that is the bully logo vs a picture of Admiral Ackbar (if it's Ole Miss we play). The Score below each of them. Then below that it says, Just because it's the NIT doesn't mean we're not bragging for beating you, aGAIN.
From an accomplishment or achievement standpoint, I would rather go to the NCAA. There is no question about that. However, I never enjoy a loss and don't see where losing a game mid-afternoon on Thursday in a half-empty gym with split-regional television coverage is that enjoyable.
Therefore, from an enjoyment or fan perspective, I think a deep run in the NIT is better. We may get three extra home games and the opportunity to play basketball for nearly two extra weeks.

On a serious not. If it is them we play and we win and someone makes a shirt like you mention (specifically the Ackbar part). I'll wear the **** out of it.
