Especially students. I remember reading last season about someone chunking their drink at an OF who talked back and it only takes something like this once getting noticed to ruin it for everywhere.

Be cool. Bring cups. Don't hang your can over the fence. National TV and stuff.

I agree with very thing except the last part. Is it a big deal if people see us drinking beer on tv?

I don't know about last season, but I know that already happened once this season against Purdue. If I remember correctly, the Purdue RF was diving for a ball and missed, and while most of us in right field were laughing and heckling as he got up and ran to the ball, one fan threw his drink at the player. Said player got the ball, made the throw, then charged back to the wall and yelled at the fan and when the fan got a little too close the player tried to punch him (the fan ducked back and the player just hit the wall).

It shouldn't happen at all at any point in a season, but we definitely don't need anything like that happening this weekend.

Surely there are adults out there who know how to handle a situation where a piece of **** decides to make his doucheness known to the world. Maybe three or four wiser types could "explain" things to the douche while they are waiting on security to show up?

From where I was, it looked like the guy was egged on by his equally-inebriated friends. Security got there pretty quick, but I didn't see anyone make an attempt at "explaining" anything.

Nothing wrong with it all. I'm more worried about Strick and 17ers in Jackson beginning to stop looking the other way all because the outfield is littered with people blatantly showing their *** and beer cans. There has to be a sense of decorum about the whole thing. No one cares (right now), but that might change if we start acting like we know they don't care.

If you thought I meant I don't want national viewers to see us drinking for some antebellum, holier-than-thou reason I apologize for going into detail.

You're pretty much spot on with this. People take for granted how good we have it right now with regard to doing pretty much what we please in the outfield. Over the past 5-6 years or so rules have been very relaxed. I have seen it otherwise and it only takes one moron to take it all away. I'm surprised we didn't see fallout from the Purdue incident. It doesn't need to happen again. Anyone caught in the act of stupidity should be banned from ever walking through the gates again.

I may or may not have tossed a beer at Seth smith in 2003 (or so). The fall out seemed to blow over pretty fast. I do regret what I might have done.

**** happens to 20 year olds that have been drinking all day.
