Paraphrasing here: "we're tired of coming in Sunday talking about the things that need to be fixed.... Blah blah blah"

Sometimes things can't be fixed and they need to be replaced. You can't FIX Shula's offense. It needs to be replaced.

He also said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results in a different presser. How can he not hear himself?
He's hiring BAD OCs and then expecting to win. Then he's not firing them and expecting things to magically improve. He is in over his head and we need to toss the Beamer baby out with the bathwater

I knew we were in trouble when on his way to the locker room at the half he said these were two great teams going up against each other or something like that.

Beamer declared Sellers is "the best player in the country" after the Clemson win.

He speaks like a man who knows he gets paid millions regardless of results.

I said it after his 3rd year. Beamer and Dabo believe they can bring in any coach and make it work. Their over-confidence in molding coaches into their system is their downfall.

He was lucky with a few of his hires, but the misses have been big ones. I still think Beamer is the guy, but if he doesn't make some changes quickly, he'll be run out of town.

Wow! We finally agree on something.

I have to admit, my sports insight is pretty spot on. Of course, I've been wrong, but i'm on the other side more often than not. Not everyone agrees with my views outside of sports, and that's ok.
Unfortunately, I think Beamer has run out of time to fix the offense. He needs to fire Shula but who is the replacement? And can any replacement pull it together in one year? If not, Beamer gone.

I agree and I really think Beamer is the guy too but he has to get an OC with a pulse this time. This hire will determine his future here

I like Beamer, but you guys are right. He has really only had one good OC. Loggains was pretty good last season.
It looks like moving Shawn Elliott to offensive line coach is starting to work. We just need to go get more talent for both lines and develop the guys we have now.
Shane is in a tough spot for next year. If he truly is on the hot seat, it's going to be hard to find a top flight OC to come to South Carolina. Also, we have to worry about portal defections.
College football has dramatically changed in the last few years. Unless you're Georgia, Alabama or Ohio State building a long term program is very difficult. Norvell was undefeated at FSU in 2023 and totally collapsed in 2024. Penn State was supposed to be a national championship contender this year and ended up firing their coach midseason. Clemson looks nothing like a team with two recent championships. This year we are really playing very poorly after winning nine games last year. I don't have the answer but scraping everything and starting over with a new head coach doesn't seem like a good idea right now. There are eight to ten head coaching jobs open right now. Three of these are plum jobs in the SEC. My guess is there will be more.
We have to face the truth that Urban Meyer or Nick Saban are not coming out of retirement to coach in Columbia. Granted Shane is not perfect but he wants to win as much a we all do. Hopefully, he will finally find the right fit for OC and start winning again.

Was Loggains really that good? We were in the 80's his first year (stat wise) and rose to 50 ish in his second year.

And it was argued that a lot of last years success was Sellers ad ribbing on broken plays.

Maybe its just a semantics issue with good vs adequate vs okay.

"Ad ribbing"?

Is that like "flied lice"? 😁

That reminds me, it's Chrstmas Story season. Fa-ra-ra-ra-ra, ra-ra-ra-ra...

No Loggains sucked too. Other than the shovel pass to beat Missouri his play calling was generally bland and ineffective outside of a few stretches. Offense was meh to begin with last year. Something clicked in Sellers and things took off but by Clemson and the bowl (still Loggains system) it was back to meh.

I swear last season there were times he called something knowing good and well the play would not work but would give Sellers a chance to work some magic.

I thought Loggains was good but not great. We won nine games with him and could have had two more with some luck. Also. apparently App State liked Loggains enough to hire him. They have had some excellent coaches in the past. However, they are 4-4 and only 1-3 in their conference. this year.
I am intrigued by whoever it was that suggested Mullen for OC. He certainly has a great resume. My guess is he would only come back for a head coaching position but who knows.

I'm assuming a lot of people are using talk-to-text on their phones... but we all know what that does. ;)

No talk to text. I did experiment, if I type "ibbing" it autocorrects to ribbing, not libbing. Actually, as I type this, my phone doesnt recognize libbing and tries to autocorrect to ribbing.

Isn't libbing a word?

Ad lib is short for ad libitum, so I don't think lib by itself is considered a verb.

Mullen is currently the HC at UNLV, so yeah, he's only coming to be an HC. Someone suggested him elsewhere. Don't hate that, but not real excited about the idea.
