Before Beamer USC averaged between 40-45 in recruiting class rankings, he has established top 25 classes since.
That's not accurate. Muschamp's last 4 recruiting classes averaged 19th rankings. Beamer's last 4 classes have averaged 20th. I'm not going to take the time to look up Spurrier's. But Spurrier's were in that neighborhood. Regardless, it would be difficult to deny that Spurrier's game day coaching skills were planets above Beamer's.

Yeah, we have always been upper teens or low 20s in recruiting nationally. The exception is the class that overlapped the end of Muschamp's tenure and the start of Beamer's, but that was an anomaly.

Ok I was mistaken about the recruiting class rankings. Regardless, the question was why I think Shane Beamer is a good coach. If you disagree, why?

This argument gets so old trying to compare Muschamp's overall record with Shane's. It is so stupid and silly.

Muschamp wasn't fired from SC because of his overall record. So posting it is almost irrelevant. Muschamp was fired for his last two seasons records.

Muschamp went 4-8 in his second to last season and then was 2-5 when he was fired. So his record for his last 19 games was 6-13. That is why he was fired.

I know a lot of you all don't like Shane and you are trying to use this Muschamp comparison to say he isn't a good coach and you are acting like he is being given preferential treatment over Muschamp. He is NOT! That is silly. It just isn't time to fire him YET, just like Muschamp didn't get fired after going 4-8. It is no different. He didn't get fired until the following season.

Let Beamer finish this season at 4-8 (definitely could happen with the way things are going so far) and then let him start next season 2-5.

You want to know what will happen if that happens? He will be fired JUST LIKE Muschamp. May not be the exact same week but it will follow the same script. You don't get fired after one bad season. You have to be on your way to two bad seasons IN A ROW at a place like SC .

To try and compare overall records and not look at the trajectory of Muschamp's seasons is ridiculous.

Put it another way, let's say Muschamp had the exact same overall winning percentage but his seasons at SC were reversed. Do you think he would have been fired? Nope. No way.

So the argument comparing the two overall records is just silly.
Thank you.

There is zero percent chance Beamer is fired after this year. Zero. Even if they don't win another game. Not unless it is an off the field incident which I don't see happening. Zero percent chance.

Just like Muschamp wasn't fired after a 4-8 season including losing to Appalachian State and getting blown out in the last two games of the season. It took the next season and starting 2-5 before he was fired.

If you think there is any chance Beamer would be fired after this season, you aren't paying attention.
Different athletic director now. We shall see. Heck they may run the table if they get some O line protection for Sellers.

If you have read my previous posts, you would know my thoughts. If you have not, you can always go back and read to know my thoughts.

What if it's 65-0? At home. Maybe one more win the rest of the way. That might be interesting. Maybe doesn't get another year.
OU offense isn't good enough and the Carolina defense isn't bad enough for them to score 65, or 45 for that matter.

I'm sticking with my thought that Carolina wins the game. OU is overrated at #14, they have not beaten a single quality opponent this season and were massacred by Texas. They were grossly overrated last year when we beat them and the same thing applies this season.

On a whim, I watched the YouTube highlights of the ou/Texas game. I wouldnt call it a massacre. It was a one score game with 10 minutes left, and OU had 3 interceptions.

Im sure they feel they gave that game away.

And to be fair, Texas isn't awesome so far either.

But apples to apples, neither of our teams has beaten a quality opponent this year.

I watched some of that game and OU didn't look good in general, especially on offense.

I agree Texas hasn't shown anything to make one think they are anything special this season.

Venables is looking like Muschamp 2.0. Great DC, poor head coach.
He has thus far. I wouldn't throw dirt on them this season yet. They are sitting on one loss to Texas. That's a huge rivalry game and one of those games where anything can happen.

If we did somehow manage to pull the upset, that's likely it for Venables. Their 5 game stretch after us is probably a brutal as the one we're in now.
