The comments are pretty good. Delusion when they think they carry the load in every other sport. Ya know... Their 7-6 football record and their inability to sweep our worst basketball team in decades. But I digress... We have a national championship to win.

Best one. It's just baseball. Football and sometimes basketball are all that...

Matter in the SEC.

Well, if you ever think the silence from a Bear fan means they don't care, remember this quote from the comments section....

"just say congrats & thats it...DO NOT give them the satisfaction of seeing it drives u nuts!!!!"

In other words, all of the OM people that act like they don't care or are happy for MSU, are full of ****. They are just doing it to keep from showing you how much it bothers them.

All of that being said...I really hate talking about what happens if we win, before we have played. UCLA could easily beat us two straight, so I'll be happy with whatever coping mechanisms they choose if it means we win it all.

Basketball is probably the most irrelevant sport in the SEC.

Signed,
Everyone except Kentucky

Baseball is slightly less relevant than football in the SEC.

Signed,
Everyone except Kentucky

We've won just by getting here. This is already the biggest moment in Mississippi college sports since we played in the Final Four in 1996.

Those replies are to be expected. Referencing the Egg Bowl when talking baseball is funny and completely illogical. Again, to be expected.

Yes. Winning a regular season football game, which we won three years in a row prior to that, is far more impressive than winning a National Championship in baseball. Dumb17s

This: "At least we didn't go to a bowl game last year and blew it.. Take your wins while you can cause it doesn't happen very often... Lol".......
A 50+ win year (which I'm pretty sure they have never done) is why I hate those 17ers more now than ever. Wins don't happen very often they say?? Would we be here now if we didn't win games? They ignore all reality and sit in their holes and think about all the ways they think they are better than us at the time. Let them enjoy their jealousy and talk about cruitin and how they enjoy the feel of sand in their vaginas

Or maybe when we played in the sec championship game in '98. Has ole miss accomplished any of these 3?

I don't care who they are, what they say, what they do, if they are a Ole Miss fan it is eating them up. Don't kid yourself everyone of them are holding their breath hoping the dawgs don't pull it off.

The new approach on the spirit is that college baseball has really low ratings. They didn't realize until now how irrelevant college baseball is and that women's basketball is more important. Yancy is helping subtly guide his sheep in this direction on this one.

I think you'd be surprised how much it isn't. A really close friend of mine has been waiting years for this moment. Booked his hotel and bought tickets literally as soon as they got the last out and they left this morning. Hope y'all sweep.

Man, their writers and some fans really hang their hat on that 2012 egg bowl. I guess 1 for the last 4 isn't bad, and it is what have you done for me lately. Without all the fluff, winning a baseball natty is a huge accomplishment.

Cheers to the ones who wish us well, to hell with the rest of them.

You'll get used to it. People used to say the same thing about Arkansas and South Carolina.

So..... Everyone. There are the ones who don't wish us well and let you know they don't and there are the ones who don't wish us well and are kissing our *** so **** can't be flung at them. Special place in fictional "fan hell" for those types.

Yeah, but Arkansas fans are a bunch of dumbass rednecks and at the time USC's state capital building flew rebel flags... not calling us rednecks or racists but all the other schools somehow in someway identify with a deep south culture and customs.

MU fans are butt hurt they're not in the B1G. I don't think MU fits in with any of the other schools culturally and I'm still pissed about them being apart of the family. Take them back to the orphanage.

Even the black sheep UK and Vandy make more sense.

Matter in the SEC.

A perusal of the Patrick Swayze Field Wikipedia page shows that Mississippi has recently pumped ~ $20 million in facility renovations, Mississippi students named it the "best collegiate baseball experience in America", and this year's attendance ranked 4th in the nation. When you consider that information, phrases like "it's not a big deal" or "it's only baseball" ring absolutely hollow. It reminds me of this past March. For what seemed like the entire Stansbury Era we had to hear about how basketball was a minor sport. This year you would have thought James Naismith invented basketball in the Tad Pad.
