Haunting you. Heard from some football knowledgable and neutral people at the game, that Captain Locks was back to his errant passes this past Saturday. Against directional Missouri, who by the way I didn't even know existed until you decided to play them. But back to the topic. Heard Locks was errant with passes and throwing to imaginary 8 ft tall wide receivers. Was told his throw pattern resembled that of a 12 guage on full cylinder, spraying it all over. Are any of you concerned with this, or are you still viewing things through the shield of delusion that you normally do? Can't believe I even asked any Bucky Backer that, because you all see things in a delusional sense. I've yet to see any OM person speak about the lack of quality of opponent in first two games.

Thank God yall scheduled the girl scouts early on, but do you honestly think he can beat a decent defense? Vandy is horrid, so don't try to use that argument. TX defense is much better than Vandy. BYU was more physical than TX with 22-25 year old men. You have no depth and have very few BYU caliber men. Plus TX was playing in thin air.

Total Defense 2013:

Vanderbilt - 34th
Texas - 117th

I see your argument.

Total Defense 2012:

Vanderbilt - 19th
Texas - 68th

Final records 2012:

Vanderbilt 9-4
Texas 9-4

Obviously Texas is a MUCH better team.

We have averaged 30+ points in the last 5 games dating back to last season. Bo had 180+/- yds and 2 TDs in 1.25 quarters last week. Not bad for a guy who was "off". We will score our typical 30+ on Texas. By the way, did you see where UTSA put up 35 on Ok St?

Surely you didn't just make the case that WE schedule girls scouts, lol. Do I need to revisit the 2012 and 2 games into 2013 MSU football season for ya? Is it smart to poke fun at a guy who absolutely "haunted" you for 5 TDs last season? You're a funny little guy

Bo is a decent QB

he seems to play a bit tentatively so far, not sure why that is. He will choke away a few games this year just like ELI did the other night. It's a rebel tradition.

Okie State had 55 points and had given up 7 til they put the water boys in to play D. Nice try. But as for the topic here, Wallace has had some bad passes that should've been picked in the Vandy game and I have no idea about vs SEMO. Hell, Russell should've had another pick or 2 vs OSU that were dropped. I don't think the Rebs are gonna have to pass all that much on UT anyway. Brunetti may play more and run it down there throats.

Not sure why? Really? I'm sure it has nothing to do with off-season surgery. Yet he still ran hard in the opener and has done pretty well for not having thrown most of the off-season.

Maybe we should be immediately concerned about Captain Baldy although interesting post.

I typically don't like RebFan but the thread asks for OM fans to comment. Why do any of you give a crap what time they respond?

A strange, hopefully drunk post asking for OM fans to respond is more of a concern to me. It brings out the worst conversations and people from both sides.

In a thread on an MSU message board specifically directed at OM fans, there are five different responses calling the OM fan obsessed with MSU. Is EliteDawgs down?

It is the actual posting almost as soon as you wake up

Are what people are calling obsessed. You get out if bed and immediately run to six pack?

Wallace needs to tighten those passes up going into this part of his schedule. He looked to be spraying them everywhere the first two games. To be fair, when the Colts and Peyton played the Saints in Jackson for a pre-season game, I made the trip from the Coast to watch the Saints newly acquired QB Drew Brees play.

Brees had just been essentially dumped by the Chargers who were worried about how he would do after his shoulder repair. Brees was firing them all over the place. Half his passes looked like onside kicks, and I thought he was the worst gamble in sports history. A month later, he was throwing darts on his way to the HoF.

So how will Wallace break? Darts or dumps? It has only been two games, but if he doesn't start tightening those passes soon, I'd be real worried, Bears. If he Brees' up, you may enjoy a good New Year's day bowl. Brunetti will NOT get you to one.

BTW-- that pre-season Colts/Saints game in Jackson at Memorial Stadium was possibly the worst Charlie Foxtrot of a sporting event I have ever attended. There were only TWO 17n gates open to enter through, for "security" reason, and most people didn't get seated until the second half. Traffic was so snarled, may people had to park in the hood, where I saw a dozen vandalized cars after the game. NEVER again.

Fortunately for Ole Miss, they shouldn't have to throw the ball much against Texas. Being that Texas let a slow guy in a leg brace run for 200+yds, I think Wallace might run for more yards than he passes for.

Possibly, but OM seems to take every snap from a shotgun formation, and never under center. If Texas loads the box, even their ****** D will get enough penetration to stop the run or force OM to throw to whichever receiver gets under coverage. They'll have to in order to keep Texas honest.

Vegas had pulled the line after Diaz was fired, but it's back up and has actually increased (OM +3.5 has moved to 4). Our line opened at +6.5 and has edged down to 6.0.

I noticed OM has not announced any suspension for their safety after his DUI. guess they'll wait and see if they need him first**

Agreed skull candy, that game was a sh17show. That is why Jackson can't have nice things. Traffic was awful and lines getting in and getting beer were too long. I may have seen a total of 10 snaps.
As for Bo, he's gonna get picke off. That's what he does. I just hope it happens less this year an it should with more weapons. Not sure where the OP gets off calling vandy an opponent that lacks quality. They were a 9 win sec team, including a nc loss to northwestern. Truth is, we won't really find out until after this weekend bc that Texas secondary is talented. Hopefully we won't have to test them.

I sure wish we had a big back like you guys to complement Jeff Scott.

I didn't get to watch the beginning of the SEMO game, but its obvious that....

Wallace was not very accurate. However, I've always thought that he needs to be involved in the running game before he really gets comfortable passing. He only had two runs vs. SEMO as Freeze was trying desperately not to get anyone hurt. I'm not too worried about that game. Freeze's goals were to limit injury and play a lot of younger guys and not show too much of the playbook. He succeeded on all three but failed in the "impress message board types w/ huge margin of victory" category. We should really lose to UT. They are stacked at every single position w/ plenty of depth; fortunately, Mack Brown still coaches them. I expect Wallace to be about where he was against Vandy; he won't win the game for us and the coaches are trying to make sure he won't lose it. Our d is going to have to step up big time.

He is not very accurate right now. He looks worse to me now than he did last year. I hope he "Brees' up", but I have a feeling that he is either still hurt or has not healed 100%. I hate to say that because we don't know, but I haven't seen us try and throw it very deep at all, almost like we know for certain that he cannot get it there. The passes that are 15-20 yards downfield and close to the sidelines look the worst.

If the question is, am I worried, then the answer is yes. However, I have been tempering my expectations since last year, and I would be happy with 5 wins and satisfied with 4 wins this year. We are just too thin, and we have too many young guys playing. Young players make mistakes that cost games, and that's ok. The way to fix the young and thing problem is to implement the system and recruit. We seem to be doing those things, so I'm willing to be patient.

It's not hard to check

It is posted right by his name. It's not like I go digging for it. And "to the rescue" fits him perfect.

So in less than two months, our schedule has gone from a "meat grinder" to "girl scouts"?

[h=2]Has Hugh taken a more realistic look at the OM schedule than the Bear faithful?[/h]
Heard a bit of his sermon from SEC media days yesterday and his words should cause some uneasy feelings within the OM community. He basically said that "unrealistic expectations" amongst players and fans causes frustration. He's possibly trying to cover his *** before he hits what is a meat grinding opening 7 games of the upcoming season. Or he knows what most of us think, last year they snuck up on people and caught them by surprise. Teams have had an entire off season to scheme against their hail mary to moncrief offense. Their defense has no depth, so run at their asses until they break down. Need I go on??

After last years EB and recruiting class, OM sheep booked up half the rooms in ATL first weekend in December.

I understand how things must be frustrating for you right now. Most of the crap you spewed this offseason hasn't worked out as you planned thus far and you are coming to grips with the fact that if you lose this week then the bowl bets are probably off. That's a hard pill to swallow in week two.

Now you are forced to contemplate the chance that redshirting and coaching up those 2-3 diamonds in the rough may not be the right approach, as evidenced by your pourous OL and underperforming WRs. You are forced to admit that Mullen is a one trick pony as a QB coach/offensive guru and hasn't properly recruited QBs for his stagnant offense in year 5. You are forced to admit that Texas San Antonio rolled up almost 200 more yards of offense and 33 more points than you versus a common opponent. You have nothing to hang your hat on from that game other than the delusion that your defense looked good. This defense that you think looked good gave up almost 300 rushing yards to the tune of 7.2 per carry to Ok St. This same Ok St team only rushed for 87 yards and 2.7 per carry on Texas-San Antonio.

You are now all in with Dak Prescott, but deep down you know that he may not be the answer either. And all you can do is hope that Prescott is as message board advertised, which may or may not be the case. You may not admit it, but you now worry that games against Auburn, Troy, Bowling Green, KY, Arkansas, and OM won't be the gimmes you had convinced yourself they were before the season. Deep down you know that Mullen's momentum has likely been lost, that there is a QB controversy in the works, and that your instate rival is getting good press and appears to be on the rise.

This was the most trollerific eggbowlish post in years. Captain Locks? Bucky backer? Then followed by a whole bunch of "I heard" "I was told" I mean ****, did you not even see highlights? And a team that played Alcorn making fun of our scheduling this year? Come on. This should have gotten far more ridicule than it did.
