That seems like an awful lot of bleachers. Anyways I can't make anything out from the pics so I guess we wait until August
I don't have any photos but in viewing the Jeffrey Field cam, I can see the temporary stands aren't there yet. I wouldn't worry about it though because the company which installs them can do it fairly quickly. Also, the longer the stands set there, the higher the rental cost will be. They'll likely be removed ASAP after the finale. Right now it looks like they're finishing up the four new stair wells with railings, etc. It wouldn't be good if someone took a dive.
Tickets in the temporary sections are already listed for sale on Ticketmaster. No worries here about them not being ready for the opener.

Reminds me of the comedian who says he doesn't trust local fairs that assemble amusement rides so quickly. He said it's like him of trying to assemble toys on Christmas Eve. He always has parts left over.
Since the renovation has the west side with temporary bleachers in the upper deck, does this mean the press box moves to the east side? In addition does this mean the cameras for television broadcast now will set up on the east side instead of the west side? Thanks in advance for any assistance on this
The press will be on the East side, in one or more suites.
I havenāt heard if the cameras will be in a different location.
My guess is the temporary press box shown in the above post will be strictly for television broadcast crews. Cameras will be positioned there as well, IMO. For day games it's important to keep the cameras south and/or west of the field. Otherwise, broadcast crews/spotters will be looking at the shadow side of the players which can make it difficult to know who's who in live action. The same would apply to people watching at home. Every big-time outdoor football stadium I can think of has the press box south and/or west unless the stadium has an orientation which makes it impossible.

Semi-related but I get the sense that the replay review room will be situated there, too.
Throughout the years the work I did for PSU PGM and the Golf team at both PSU, Bucknell, and a dozen other schools, none of it went out to bid. Only the FIU Stadium project did and that is b/c of Miami Dade County, not the school.
We go by the construction regularly. Two days ago while driving on Park Avenue the missus looks at me and says, "There's no way I'd sit in those temporary seats." I understand that they're probably "engineered" correctly, but those things look like a train wreck waiting to happen.
Yeah, they currently look like some old high school bleachers with an opening at the feet where you could climb down thru as a kid(and drop stuff thru as an adult and then go retrieve it or have one of the kids playing under the bleachers get it for you).
Having driven past also I am in full agreement with your wife. I'm not great with heights and they are way up there and currently are totally open.
The Nebraska game at home end of Nov should have a nice arctic wind and mix of snow and rain up there in those seats unprotected. What could be more fun?

In response to some of the other comments, with the caveat that I've never had any issues with height, I wouldn't think twice about sitting in those seats. That said, I usually try to get closer to the field on the infrequent times when I make it to a game.

Those seats are "engineered" to capture the revenue.
Please someone tell me that we aren't putting high school bleachers on top of a concrete deck in a 110 thousand seat stadium that already shakes in the end zone section. Somebody talk me off the ledge here. Not kidding, I know absolutely nothing about engineering other than how to engineer a tailgate party, but this worries the **** out of me

The 1987 game of ND vs PSU was about as cold at a football game as I have ever been.... Sitting up in those bleacher seats completely exposed with wind chills -25 I say good luck to those willing to sit through that. I am not saying PSU has any options here to minimize the exposure, its just something people are going to have to endure this year being at the mercy of the weather. Heat, Cold, Rain, Snow, Sleet, etc...

Maybe she tells people it's her plan. IIRC, her plan had Beaver Stadium renovation way at the bottom of the priorities list. And she had a strange fixation on building some sort of 10,000 seat aquatics Taj Mahal.
