Was thinking "what's up with this kid, he doesn't look like he even likes football. " then it hit me, this is what playing for a paycheck instead of playing for your team looks like

The disgracefulness of the SEC's performance against the B1G in high-visibility games continues unabated. The league's luster is gone.

Texas played like they were a Big12 team again. I fell asleep during the game. 😴
I've seen a lot of teams playing hard this first week, but no jugernauts! I think that's good for us and should make for a fun season with a lot of close games and upsets!

We have had a few embarrassing game 1 efforts ourselves you know.

I think both defenses played tough and will continue that level of play. I still don't understand Texas offensive play calling.

With Michigan playing at Oklahoma this week and Wisconsin playing at Bama next week, I have a feeling the trend will continue. Why, exactly, is Oklahoma ranked #18?

I think Oklahoma will be better - or the Venables experiment will soon end. I think Bama will beat Wisconsin at home. If not, we ain't seen ugly yet.

It's one game. I remember his uncle, Peyton, getting thrown out there in his first game against UCLA years back. Peyton struggled too and we all found out how he turned out. Rough game to throw a young QB into. Road game against defending National Champion against a former NFL head coach and Defensive coordinator.

There's a healthy dose of overreaction, no doubt. However, this wasn't his first game. He had 3 starts last year (I think). I think what was most troubling to Texas fans is that his mechanics seemed all screwed up. But, yes, he was going up against the defending national champion, on the road, facing a top former NFL DC.

And you have the Heisman favorite hype, team being pre-season #1. I assume he'll be better than what he was on Saturday, but I do think there's reason to pump the brakes on the Heisman talk for now. He gets 3 easy games to get things squared away before heading to Gainesville. But college football is a sport of extreme overreactions.

Wasn't it known that he'd be the starter in game one for months? That's all he has been preparing for the last several months. He needs to grow up fast.
