Before we move on from last night's game, can someone help me understand

how the officials missed the San Fran fumble recovery on the play when Bowman was injured? The ball gets knocked loose, Bowman recovers, and then lays down on the ground with the ball in his right arm for 2-3 full seconds before Seattle defenders start jumping on him. From the left sideline, there's an angle as clear as day with him on the ground with the ball. Where in the 17 was the sideline judge at this point?

The fact that this play could not be reviewed was bad enough and I have a good feeling that we'll see a rule change soon to take care of this, but the bigger question to me is how in the world was this missed by the officials in the first place?

Really wasn't an issue though b/c didn't they fumble the next play and San Fran ended up getting the ball on the 15.

Oh, it definitely did end up working out better for San Fran due to the result of the following play, but it was still inexcusable that it had to come to that.

It's an unforgivable mistake by the officials. The fact that it didn't decide the game/NFC Champion, which it would have if Lynch scored, doesn't make it less acceptable.

Combined with the roughing the kicker. The rule has been forever that contact to the plant leg is 15 yards because it's a safety issue
