DT reporting this... you can bank on it being true given that fact.

Kessler may just want to go somewhere that might actually win next year, if he comes back to college at all.

There is a litany of players that will enter the portal if not drafted. I'm not gonna out them, just know that a second wave could come.

Is there a deadline to enter the portal? I thought I had heard that players had until like the end of this month to enter, but I could be getting old and going crazy.

July 1st, it's more that they will probably enter just before as a contingency. They might get cold feet. They're in a tough spot.

Okay, that is what I thought. I think we at least get 1 more, but not sure about the others. I imagine that some won't enter, but will basically take any contract given to them regardless of whether they are drafted or it is a FA contract.

Could be as many as 4-5 too. The Guilliams firing also angered some players.

You'd classify it as a firing? I had the impression that Guilliams was looking to get out and jumped on this Utah opportunity. I also think that today was the first time that UK baseball's twitter account has acknowledged Guilliams leaving, and that Mingione also (for the first time) has acknowledged his departure today.

Mingione and UK baseball framing this as 'an opportunity he couldn't pass up,' but I moreso got the impression that Guilliams sought out other opportunities because he didn't want to be here anymore.

I think Guilliams saw the writing on the wall. I think he knew there was a good chance he was going to be the sacrificial lamb sorta speak.

Yeah idk. I think he was always the sacrificial lamb. He left before NM could burn him. Players loved him so they werent happy.

Barnhart has totally mismanaged the baseball program, much in a similar fashion as he did in football with Joker.
The Joker fb was at the advice of Rich Brooks...David Jones told my friends and I that Brooks had everything set up for him to succeed and he fired the coaches and alienated many players including himself. He is mismanging the bb program presently. Mingione looked like a homerun hire , but it was fools gold.
