UCLA isn't even close to a top 10 job and hasn't been for a long time. I'm not even sure it's a better job than Butler right now with them joining the Big East next year.

Come on, it is better than Butler. Who knows if the Big East will play basketball next year.

He's talking about the new Big East

The Catholic 7 that broke off from the old Big East plus Butler, Crieghton and Xavier. Should be a hell of a basketball conference. The current Big East will be called something else and will basically be Conference USA East.

Exactly. The new Big East will be better overall than the current one is in basketball. And a hell of a lot better than the PAC-12.

No, it's not. A conference stability comes from football and the Big East, or the new Big East, will never be a more stable conference than the Pac12. UCLA is miles ahead of Butler. It's one of the best jobs in the country.

It's Alabama football. Just takes the right guy.

Rick Petino, Shaka Smart, and Brad Stevens will be at the top of their list.

10 jobs better than UCLA? All I got is Duke, UNC, Kentucky, and Kansas.

One could debate how those 5 should be ranked, but I didn't realize there was any debate that those are the top 5 programs in CBB.

Two things. How can the Big East be better when you take UofL, Syracuse, UCONN and Pitt out? I love the basketball only concept, but it will not be a better league.

Second, UCLA is a great job no matter what league they are in. Using the angle you seem to be taking, UK isn't a top 10 job because it plays in a bad league.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but there are a lot of coaches who would disagree with you.

LOL. We should give him the benefit of the doubt and chalk it up to a Saturday night drinking binge.

I hope that's right. Otherwise, I'm reminded of a post Engie directed at some poor soul yesterday:

Thank you for making it abundantly clear that everyone can ignore anything you may say about this sport in the future. Please refrain from commenting further on it.

Pat's post was so bad that this could apply here.

And you really want to live in Lawrence, Kansas or Indianapolis? Duke, UNC, Kentucky and ucLA. LA is not bad if you have the coin (and as HC you would).

i mean, lawrence ain't a big city, but it's a pretty nice college town and not too far west of kansas city or east of topeka. and actually has a pretty decent arts and music scene for a town that size. it's not LA, but to act like it's a terrible town to live in for a coach is laughable. especially if you are one of those posters that wonder why starkville doesn't get more respect as a college town.
