Besides hiring well what did we learn from Kirby Smart about stopping Freezus?

I would say they refused to let Ole Miss have the edge and forced them to beat them inside. They had the horses to handle the inside running game pretty well.

I really couldn't tell what the secondary was doing but Ole Miss did not try to go down field very much so I would assume they were giving them some cushion and then really reacting well or Ole Miss simply didn't have time to go down field due to the pass rush.

Lesson 1: get your best corner back from injury (Moncrief's half of the field was shut down).

Lesson 2: find out you have the best true freshman corner in the country.

Lesson 3: challenge your Butkus Award finalist AA LB to take barbie's "score on them" shot as a personal affront and stand back and watch while he wreaks havoc.

Lesson 4: watch your redshirt freshman nose guard (the one you bitchslapped Mack Brown for and took from the tea sips and made them like it) turn into Marcel Dareus in the space of two quarters.

I think we have as much speed at LB as Bama, but I'm not sure we have the interior DL to keep Wallace from picking up chunks of yards up the middle.

If the DLs get their hands up they have a good chance at batting down Sunshine's pass.

Agree, take away the edge, make them run interior.

CBs can't bite on the double moves.

Bama went with a very wide 4 down instead of their usual 3-4 arrangement... Seemed to throw off everything for OM with the outside containment -- as you mentioned...

Outside contain is key against OM and that's exactly what Bama did as everyone mentioned. They get rolling typically on two things - shots down teh field to moncrief or Scott getting an edge and making a big play. Bama seemed to basically give them the 5 yard pass banking on OM eventually messing up (false start, dropped pass, holding) or having a defender make a play (tipped pass, sack, etc).

As much as I liked seeing them get shut out, OM did have a couple of nice drives that could have easily ended up as TD's but they had to be patient and methodical to do it and once they get inside the 15 Bama just ended up deflecting a couple of key passes. Most folks don't have the athletes across teh board to do that.

For us, I would try to mimic the ouside contain and bring pressure up the middle. Double moncrief and just hop he throws one of two up for grabs. I think they'll score at least 20 on us unless we catch a ton of break - we just can't let them get into the 30's.

can I get at least one possibly two late hits on wallace?

I mean just one or two clock cleaners if he gives the read option or keeps it.
