Hear me out. Go to Corner Liquor on Georgetown Street. The front is a regular hood liquor sto(re) but in the back and basement is a very fine brewery. Their Douglass Ale comes in around 9.7% a.b.v and is outstanding. Booker T Brew is another good selection. As you can see, it is very safe despite its location. There are plenty of police around most of the time. Plenty of good eating establishments around too.

Where's the craft beer spot for poor college kids or are they frequenting these places at the expense of their parents credit card?

We'll have a gang of bad hoes on stationary bikes with titty sweat pumps attached going 24/7 to satisfy the world's craving for titty sweat beer. Brilliant.

I'm headed to Lexington as well for breweries on November 25th.

My favorites

1. The new Country Boy in Georgetown. There is over 20 beers to choose. There is something for everyone. I love the strawberry Saison and nacho bait. Whether you like ipas, stouts, sours or just off the wall beers they are the best around imo. The space is nice as well. It's also the cheapest brewery I've been too.

2. West Six. Solid beers and a good variety. Good deals. I love the BlackBerry sours. The food is good too.

3. Blue Stallion. Good atmosphere. Ya damn Skippy peanut butter porter is my favorite beer currently in Lexington. They also have a lot to choose from and the restaurant inside was a fine addition.

4. Ethereal. Awesome spot. I love that this place is in an area that looked condemned and now there is a fantastic little community there. There beer is always changing it seems. Some nice ipas there. Every time I go it's cool to see what else is added there. Ethereal has a nice patio area now and good fellas pizza right next to them.

5. Life. I really thought they had the best food out of the Lexington breweries. Their beer was ok but there wasn't much to chose from.

6. Mirror twin. Nice place and good food but I didn't care for there beer. Of course I've only been once so I'm going to try them again at some point.

I've not been to all tech, rockhouse, pivot, rooster or lemons mill brewing. I'm aware that not all these breweries are not in Lexington but they are close enough for me.

1. Blue Stallion

The rest are pretty similar. West 6th with Smithtown is a good one to grab food and beer but not my favorite beer.

Have heard a rumor that Rhinegeist is looking to open a place in Lexington. If true it would be great.

I'd also love if Braxton headed South as well.

I love Braxton labs. Much better than the other. Some incredible beers there. Cherry season, coconut hefeweisien, black berry lager and ne ipa batch #3. Their ne ipa is my favorite all time ipa. They have a sweet potato casarol beer that they garnish with a toasted marshmallow that is fun as well

Only been there once but impressive beers for sure. I liked it when it was Eight Ball also but Braxton has some interesting stuff going on there now. The Black IPA is very nice also. Blows away the black IPA from Darkness Brewery. Both are super convenient to downtown and minutes away from me. As is Wooden Cask.

Warms my heart to see Blue Stallion getting such high remarks.

I couldn't agree more. Best by a wide margin.

Country Boy is the the big thing, I get it but I think their products are pretty meh...

Non-Lextonian but Blue Stallion is easily the best in Lex and probably one of the better ones in the state. As good as anything in Louisville. I get that most of those places have to have all the random sours, fruit beers and other oddballs, but at least BS puts effort into actually doing classic styles really well.

What's your favorite Louisville brewery? I like against the grain and gravely brewing the most so far

Went to Pivot again yesterday. They are doing a few brews and a few ciders. Wife liked a couple of those ciders really well.

Oh, what I wouldn’t give for a sweet potato casserole beer garnished with a toasted marshmallow!

Money, for starters.

I’m only knocking the beer, and no, I haven’t tried it. So.........carry on.
