My way of assuring we beat OM this weekend is to not be there, so we're going to see the Beachboysin Gulfshores. Would like to have best fried shrimp on the Alabama coast while there and the last few times down, we were not all that impressed.

Your recommendations? Hate to go wander through NAFOOM Posts.

Just see this as your support of my sacrifice for the baseball program.

not very impresssed with restaurants there. Ate at Bubbas in Orange beach, it was ok. A lotof food for the price. LuLu's is a massive operation, but my opinion was they were going more on the name than the food. Original Oyster house wasnt too bad.....Heard Tacky Jacks was good. The problem is, is that it is hard to find "fresh" seafood anywhere. Most restaurants go through the middle men now, even on the coast.

I go all the time but Mikee's in Gulf Shores is my favorite. Get the pound of fried shrimp special for $10.99. Hard to beat.

No reason to branch out at this time. Just pull up to Lulu's, get your pager, and have some beers.

If you really need the shrimp, pick up some fresh at the seafood market. Get the oil in the condo hot and don't mess 'em up. Make a salad and have some fun.

If it were up to me, I'd stop at Felix's (US 90 Spanish Fort exit off I-10) on the way down and prepare to be disappointed in everything else after that.

Personally, I enjoy Shrimp Basket if for no other reason than the Russian/Ukranian/Eastern European waitresses shining them high beams. It's actually pretty damn good fried seafood for the price.
