Played for Otto back in the 80s and the Gold helmet was awarded to players that the coaches felt gave 100% on every play. It was only given after a win (a few exceptions were made when I was there) and was considered the highest honor an RB football player could win. I believe Leyden or DGN did something similar before Otto started doing it. Changed to the platinum helmet sometime in the 90's. Still have mine collecting dust on a shelf.

Aren't those similar to the mchs Greys from a couple years back or were they darker. Almost same color combo. I didn't like the mchs only because the numbers were hard to read.

I didn't like them because it looked like someone who was blind and had no taste designed them. And yes, they were similar.

Would only work in the B16 part of the schedule - they would bake in the sun against the Cyclones and the MAC/MVC-F games in September.

They don't do that anymore, it was a great tradition that they did away with. It was 100% club and it was given to guys who have 100% at all times. They should bring it back.
