DS's "C for Cubs" post is the inspiration behind this (That, and a crappy job and the slowness of summer).

Which NFL team has the "best" logo? This should be based solely on the logo, not on personal allegiance to a team or anything record/achievement related.

This will be determined in a NFL playoff style 12 team format. Votes equate to "wins", so most votes determines seeding. Tiebreakers if needed will be determined after the fact.

The "regular season" will conclude in two days. After that, the playoffs will begin.

It shows up fine on my computer, and did when I hit preview also.

Oh well...that certainly didn't last long.

In light of this, and in contradiction to my own direction, I declare the Saints the winner.

AFC North - Steelers
AFC South - Colts
AFC East - Dolphins
AFC West - Raiders

NFC North - Packers
NFC South - Saints
NFC East - Cowboys
NFC West - Cardinals

I'd have to go with the Steelers. Easily recognizable and makes use of the city's heritage and history. Saints are best in the NFC.

Raiders are second best in the AFC. Cowboys are second best in the NFC.

Noticed the image problem is a yukuism. Refresh and you might see images and you might not.

Gonna stop now.

Then I like your choices, for the most part. If we're just talking "coolness" of the logo though, I've got to give the nod to the Texans probably. I like the Chargers too - simple, effective, and pretty awesome.

1) Any team whose official logo isn't on the helmet is automatically disqualified. If the logo isn't strong enough for a helmet, its not strong enough for me.

2) Abbreviation logos are out. Sorry, Chicago and Green Bay. San Francisco is an exception because it just looks good and I can make exceptions

3) Wise men follow the star.

Not sure what the problem is. It works on my machine.

Then again, often times when other people post images (particularly Coaches for some reason), I get the "image" script and nothing else.

The Dolphins stood out in a weak division. I'd rate the Dolphins below than the Chargers, Texans, and Chiefs.

Edit to add: Ravens would be next. The Ravens' logo is good, but I liked the first one they had that they had to quit using after being sued in court better. I would rate their first logo just below the Chargers.

...but since the design was created by a non-Patriots person-- a cartoonist for one of the Boston newspapers I believe, New England had to move away from using it to something they indisputably owned.

Best of the "If a team used a different logo/color helmet"

Cincinnati - use logo instead of stripes and this is pretty sharp.

Arizona - change from a white helmet and this is as badass of a helmet as exists (see MState)

Miami - again same helmet, switch from white to teal and it looks much better.

Tennessee - maybe I just hate white helmets, but I like this logo better too

St. Louis - like Cincy, same helmet - switch to logo instead of ram horns.

i know it's despised by most, but i think the bengals' helmet is one of the best in all of football. i guess it's the uniqueness. also, i like the rams, vikings, and eagles for the same reasons.

Sure, I am a homer, but that is a strong logo. The arc of the bolt works perfectly with the helmet, and it can be put on shoulders, pants, etc.

Very simple - good colors too.

i like the chargers a lot. i also like the jets and giants logos before they went "retro." i think my favorite though is the buffalo bills logo. its not too flashy, made the transition well when i was "updated" and you never really question just why the hell there is this red flash going down the side.
