Loyola's run game is like an M1 Abrams tank coming at you at full speed. RB Vaughn Pemberton is the cherry on top, but it all starts and ends with the interior of that O line. I believe they have the best guard tandem in Peter Gianaris and Josh Kreutz in the state. One is a 3 year starter who is explosive and runs faster than most LB's while the other is a 2 year starter ( still a junior ) who can dominate and push anyone off the ball. I hope to see them play Warren in the playoffs, it'll be an epic battle. I would love to hear of any other great interior line tandems.

Guess we know what position you played
I actually was a LB for LA in the late 60’s early 70’s. I recall though going up against those great lineman from St. Rita and St. Laurence back then and it would take 3 days to recover. I later had a chance to meet and become friends with the late great LA coach Chuck Erlanbaugh. He was an All American guard from Purdue who played in their last Rose Bowl. Bob Griese was his qb. You big guys deserve all the love. The heart and soul of a team in my humble opinion.

Ahhh, so you’ve had battles with OGs. Either way, since I’m biased, I agree that it’s the most important position in football.

You mention each of the Guards, where’s the love for the Center! If we’re looking at the best interior lines in the state, at least include our beloved Centers!!

Don’t see enough Guards to offer up other names but LA’s O-line are road graders for sure. They’ve been playing together for awhile and they stay on their blocks until the whistle. Ornery, too. Love their combo blocks. What a match-up with Warren that would be! Quick note: LA was 2-2 and rotating running backs until they went to the primary back. They’ve averaged 48 points a game since.
