Hey board. I haven't been to Starkville since the 80's. Have an LSU buddy coming over for the game, and he's asking. Any suggestions? Thx!

Opposite side of H-25? Something Meat Market? Something Grocery?

I have been told they have an excellent burger - only open for lunch, though - small strip shopping center located east of Lowe's.

edited to fix stupid finger errors.

It's on Highway 12 next to Zaxby's. Heard their lunch was good but haven't tried it. Cappe's and Tyler's plate lunch are good.

but they definitely have the best breakfast in town. Bacon is cooked perfectly and the duck butter and waffle is awesome.

they definitely have the best cut of steaks in town. I go there every time to pick up steaks when we decide to grill up something good. If the food they cook is as good as the meat quality they have then I would imagine it is excellent.

The daily 50 cent wings as well as good beer and prices make it a great place. Now they're doing the blue plate, hell I might just move in there.

Lunch and bowl is really fun if you're trying to kill time (roughly $10 to bowl two games, shoes, and a decent meal).

My favorite lunch spot is the City Bagel on University Drive. Get either a garden-burger or Reuben on foccacia breadand you wont be disappointed. I actually like cappe's a lot too if I am in the mood for meat and vegetables.

Got a group who eats downtown every day

1. Cappe's
2. Stagger Inn
3. The Veranda
4. Brent Michael's Meat Market and Burger Company
5. Restaurant Tyler

Each of the above serve a blue plate lunch ... meat, 2 or 3 vegetables and drink for either 7, 7.50 or 8 dependent upon the place

Meanwhile, both Grumpy's and Little Dooey's have daily lunch specials

And Old Venice has an outstanding lunch buffet (pizza, pasta, salad, and a meat each day ... chicken tenders, pork tenderloin, etc)

I've only had their burger, but it is one of the best in town. They say you might be able to beat their prices, but you can't beat their meat. I'm pretty sure they are open for dinner hours now as well. Restaurant Tyler is also a personal favorite for lunch.

The food is fine, but instead of a fountain drink, you're supposed to just get a can of Coke or whatever. That's not nearly enough for a meal. Plus, they have a whole rack of women's magazines...<div>
</div><div>I'd go with the peanut butter burger at Mugshots, and add chili.</div>
