With William's sisters playing in the singles finals and winning the doubles at Wimbledon, who are the best siblings to ever play professionally?

And yes, I listened to Mike and Mike this morning.

...it is the Williams sisters for women.

The DiMaggio brothers were both very good years ago in baseball. The Lopez brothers could challenge in a few years in basketball. The UVA brothers, CB and TB, forget their names, are probably best for football.

yeah, I said it. Playing professional quarterback in today's NFL might be the toughest thing in sports and they both led their teams to world championships.

Some other siblings I can think of off the top of my head:

Gregg and Mike Maddux
The Catching Molinas (all three)
Tiki and Ronde Barber

I can't think of too many others at the moment, but I thought I'd throw some out there to get started.

Yea, I started making that post, stepped away for a minute, came back and finished the post, and just about everything in my post was Germans by the time it hit.

If Justin develops into Griffey part deux, as he is projected. BJ is a stud - they are both really young.

Now I know they are both in prison, but those two Michael and Marcus were amazing. A little misguided yes but they were phenomenal football players.

I'm going with the Molina brothers because of quantity (3) and quality (all 3 have WS rings). The Williams sisters in a close second.

Bobby and Terry Labonte combined for more championships than Eli and Peyton.

Edit: I think I replied to the wrong post. Screw it.

Offhand I couldn't think of any, but I figured if there were one of you would know.

As to the greatest, I'd say Tiger and Eldrick Woods (one guy couldn't possibly be winning that often)

Brent and Jon.

As to the original question, each Williams sister is one of the best ever. The same cannot be said about any of the other pairs being mentioned.

Soccer - every player uses the ball...and there is a goal. High-end athleticism required

Golf - there is a goal (cup). High-end hand-eye coordination. High-end athleticism not required.

Driving - not a sport.

They're possibly the top 2 women's players ever and would have many more major titles if they hadn't treated tennis as a hobby for close to the last decade.

If you think driving a race car doesnt require phenomenal hand-eye and foot coordination plus balls of steel, all while sitting a >140 degree sauna for 4 hrs, you are an 17'n idiot. You may not like racing, but anybody with more than houseplant intelligence has to admit that it is a sport. Ask Brad Doughtery(sp?). He says that racing a Nascar truck was much hard than basketball.

the car is. And if hand eye coordination makes it a sport, I guess cup-stacking is too. Hell, we could put a TV and Playstation in a sauna and call it a sport.

the boone family is probably the best family of athletes because they have at least 3 brothers, one dad and one grandfather all play in the show. reggie miller and cheryl miller maybe the best siblings ever in basketball. the williams sister have both been the best in their sport so they might be the best siblings to ever play.</p>
