I routinely get on this kick of trying to defend Starkville to some idiot yankee or someone from Georgia or wherever that has never been to Starkville. They think it's ****, obviously. But if they visit, they realize it's a great small college town with a great atmosphere, especially when the students are in town and there's an event going on. <div>
</div><div>But that's not what makes a good town.

</div><div>I'm thinking things that most people outside the state don't know about Starkville. Maybe the Refuge, the River. Relative cheapness of liquor, Cotton District. What else? I think we maybe should be embracing the smallness of Starkville, instead of trying to validate to supposed elitists (or maybe that's just me).</div> </div>
