Assuming that Tuberville leaves Auburn and we hire him up real quicklike. /olemiss This would leave Auburn with an open coaching vacancy and it would be priceless if Auburn hired Nutt. 17n priceless... Now, I saw it mentioned on here so I don't seek credit for thinking this up, but it would be hi17nlarious.

but if they did, Ole Miss fans would just quit on football. Every bit of success being stolen from Auburn.

at the least the non premium one, doesn't have anything about a pending Tub departure from the Plains. However, according to their fans, no one would care if he left. Six million dollar buyout is what they show for Tub to leave.

That would not be a good scenario for you, assuming you think Nutt is a very good coach. You'd be better off with Nutt at Ole Miss than with Nutt at Auburn. As I've said before, for both Ole Miss and MSU, we should be more concerned about the success of Alabama, LSU, and Auburn than with each other. Those programs lacking success has a much stronger correlation with our own successes than the lack of success of our in state rival.

Basically, if Auburn is good, you'll have a tougher time winning than if Ole Miss is good.

That said, if you guys could get Tubby, I think it'd be a great hire. He's the perfect coach for a position at a school that may have to take some chances on recruits. He's a great talent evaluator, and prior to this season he had averaged 10+ wins at Auburn for the previous 4 years. He was essentially forced to hire an OC he didn't want this past year, and it threw the whole team off. It was an eerily similar situation to Nutt being forced to hire Malzahn.

Nutt to Auburn. I'd feel sorry for Ole Miss. Less than a week after a 45-0 skull raping, I'd feel sorry for Ole Miss.

Thread = retarded.

I went to State for a semester, and I'd like to see y'all with a good coach as much as anyone (Petersen vs Nutt every year would be the most entertaining **** in the country), but the original post was butt-effing retarded.

I lurk here all the time.

State and Ole Miss should combine forces (so to speak) and turn our efforts on beating the rest of the SEC West. The downside to that (to most state fans) would be Ole Miss playing in Atlanta. But of course our chances of getting back would increase as well. Crap, the rest of the world thinks we're the same school anyway, so in reality it would be good for both of us.

Sort of like the sunnis and the shiites combining efforts against al-qaeda.

When you look at both of our most recent runs to success, it's pretty evident how they happened. From the mid to late 90s to the early 2000s, we both had some good runs of success. During that period, Auburn and Alabama both went through probations. Auburn hired Tubberville to rebuild things. Alabama went through a coaching merry-go-round. LSU went through Dinardo before hiring Saban to rebuild things.

Basically, those three programs had a lot of flux during that period where they were trying to find solid footing, and we were both able to take advantage. And to be honest, our two programs having success didn't have a negative effect on the other program. It's not like only one of us could be successful. We were both having success at the same time, sometimes playing for bowl positioning in the Egg Bowl.

Now, Auburn, LSU, and Alabama all found stable footing, and we both hit the skids. Your program having 7 losing seasons in the last 8, and ours having 4 losing seasons in the last 5 obviously didn't help the other program out. What would be best for us is if Auburn were to fire Tubberville, and if they were to struggle to find a replacement, having to take someone that was not a good hire. Then we'd need LSU to hit a skid with Miles, possibly firing him. I don't think Bama is going away, but if somehow Notre Dame could buy away Saban, that would help as well.

LSU and Auburn in on the downswings, MSU got Croomed, and the SEC East isn't nearly as strong as predicted. In essence, the SEC was "down" this year.

That's the only possible way Mississippi could get to 8-4 this year.
